Stubby is too good to be true-both the book and the original story! The source material was already one of the most moving tales of friendship and courage to come out of the Great War, but Borrus and her illustrator have transformed it into a timeless, surefire children’s classic. The simple, poignant prose paired with adorable illustrations make Stubby the perfect present for kids of all ages. Can’t recommend this one enough.

Nightly arguments over who got to "read Stubby in bed" The conversations that arouse from this story gave them both a greater appreciation for the history. Accompanied by vintage style watercolor illustrations, this sweet & heroic story is a real classic of bravery and love of a dog for his troops during World War One, who he rescues time and again on the battle field. A history lesson wrapped in an amazing true story.
