Are you a cheer coach ormom to cheerleaders? I bet you pray for them daily--not just that they'll bestrong and successful but that they'll draw closer to God. I know that becauseI'm a former cheer coach, as well as a former high school and collegecheerleader, and the mom of two cheerleaders.
 
As cheer coaches, we'reoften more than just the person who makes up routines, corrects motions andjumps, and offers mount formation ideas. Many times, we're our cheerleaders'confidant, counselor, and friend. When I was coaching, I encountered someamazing young women, but I also came face-to-face with the reality that notevery cheerleader comes from a "cheery" home.
 
So many girls strugglewith modern-day issues of brokenness, including being bullied, eatingdisorders, and feeling like they just don't measure up. For all of thosereasons and more, I wrote Get Your SpiritOn! As Christian cheer coaches and parents, we have the ability to speakinto the lives of our girls, and it's my prayer that this book will be a greattool to help you do that.

    This cheer devotion for 9-12 year old girls totally delivers on the title. The short devotions are easy to read & the tips, action steps and cheers mix it up a little—not your ordinary devotions. The fresh format and creative ideas make this book a fun choice for cheer teams to do together or for cheerleaders on their own. As a mom of four, I would even recommend this as a mother-daughter devotional for cheer moms & kids. Topics apply to teens, tweens & moms alike and the questions and challenges give you something to think about and act on. Excellent & energetic! I highly recommend this book for tween girls.

    I love everything author Michelle Medlock Adams writes, so when I was offered an advanced copy of "Get Your Spirit On!" I couldn't resist, even though I've never been a cheerleader. And I'm so glad I read it!

    Michelle brings her genuine sense of love, warmth, and humor to this book. It's obvious within the first couple pages that not only does she know what it's like to be a cheerleader, but she loves those who cheer!

    More than anything, "Get Your Spirit On!" made me realize that Christianity is a cheer sport. It's all about encouraging one another in the faith. And that's something to get excited about!

    If you cheer, or you know anyone who does, be sure to pick up a copy of "Get Your Spirit On!"

    There are two things Michelle Medlock Adams surely knows about: the sport of cheer ... and the need to draw close ... close ... close to God, especially at the age range the author wrote the book for: 9-12. As their bodies are growing and changing, so can their walk with God. As parents and (in my case) a grandparent of a cheer-girl, I don't want to see my granddaughter's walk with God go anywhere but UP the pyramid! So excited that I'll be able to give this book to her!
