Review
Characterization is one of the key elements in keeping a reader turning the pages. DiAnn's book will make sure you know how to create those kinds of characters. I highly recommend Exploring the Art of Character for authors of all levels of expertise. The new author will find loads of helpful guidance, and the more experienced author will benefit from the thought provoking questions at the end of each chapter. Don't miss this opportunity to learn how to take your characterization to the next level. ~Lynette Eason, best-selling, award-winning author of the Danger Never Sleeps series.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2023What a great tool to help your characters become stronger, more likable and definitely more relatable. There is much to learn in this small book and I highly recommend it for writers of fiction. It's well worth its price and will be a book you'll look at time and again to glean new insight and ideas.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2020As a therapist for thirty years, I found this book chock full of wonderful information. DiAnne Mills has put together a gold mine for writers. The art of creating characters and their interactions is the art of understanding human thought, emotion and motivation. Mrs. Mills could teach this in a counselor training program. This is such a great resource for writers! Rich in substance, well written, and motivating for writers to help develop characters with layers that will keep their readers turning pages and believing the author must have been living in the character's closet to be so real. Such a jewel!

I use many writing resources that usually find a home on my bookshelf, this one is staying close to my writing zone for quick reference. I highly recommend it to writers of all levels.
