Dale Brown's Dreamland: Satan's Tail (Dreamland Thrillers Book 7) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 464 ratings

New York Times–Bestselling Authors: When terrorists take to the sea, America attacks from the air . . .

In the Nevada desert, the high-tech future of warfare is being built at a top-secret military facility called Dreamland . . .

As extremist Islamic pirates, armed and supported by a powerful Saudi terrorist, prey on civilian vessels in the Gulf of Aden, America aggressively answers with serious muscle—a next-generation littoral warship with a full range of automated weapons systems that the enemy has dubbed “Satan's Tail.”

But unforeseen technological problems—combined with the suicidal tendencies of a fanatical foe—mean support is needed from above, and a pair of Dreamland’s awesome Megafortresses and their Flighthawk escorts are dispatched to the war zone. However, bitter professional rivalries threaten to damage, perhaps even destroy, the mission, as a vengeful opponent takes advantage of the disruption to strengthen his outlaw navy and set its sights horrifically high—raising the stakes in a battle the U.S. and the world simply cannot afford to lose.

Sunday Mirror

“Few novelists can craft an aerial battle scene more strategically.” —
Publishers Weekly

“Brown puts us into the cockpits of wonderful machines and gives us quite a ride . . . authentic and gripping.” —

The way Dale Brown writes you feel like you’re right there in the action with the characters. Really great reading! Can’t wait for the next book to get my heart racing gain.

This book was interesting by exploring new technologies incorporated into current military theology. It kind of got drawn out at the end.

I was in the Navy (Air) for 21 years. I am a commercial pilot and understand most of his lingo.. I love the technical data Brown writes about. Just a few more of Brown's books and I will have read them all. I love the "Dreamland" series the most.

As others have said, drifting away from the old dog series but it is a good read. Has an interesting story line but does get disjointed at times. If you are reading multiple books or or returning to the book after a break you may find you have to back up a bit to refresh your memory.
Always fun reading Dale's books

Although this series, to me, is not quite as good as the "Old Dog" series, it is only a partial step down. The story is a continuation of the same major characters, and they are quite good and very interesting individuals. It is fast paced, has plenty of action, and a few tear-jerker momemts. If you are a Dale Brown addict, as I am, you won't want to miss this book!!

I've been enjoying the Dreamland series of thrillers. . . until now. The stories are becomming predictable and repitative. The action is fun, but again tired. . . heard it before. Let's move on. . . perhaps the son can become the next hero. . . as always, Orv

As usual Dale Brown provides an excellent story in a high tech combat environment. Would recommend this story to all readers. I knew Mr. Brown when I was stationed at Mather AFB in 1976. He was a class-action crew daug.

It was a little slow to start, but then it really took off and I couldn't put it down. Less technology and more action works better for this author

I chosen this book because I am a great fan of Dale Brown, I was not disappointed. The battle against pirates and religious sponsored terrorism still goes on. Will it ever stop?
