- Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2023Typical harlequin read with a chauvinistic international alpha and a swooning, determined heroine. One of the better ones. They’re addictive reads, even though they test my liberal sensibilities!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2015I really love a book with a happy ending.
You know through out the book that they love each other, both to proud to admit it

- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2018Leon needs to marry Helen and adopt his sister's son to ensue keeping control of the family business. Surprisingly he falls in love with Helen and immediately finds deep family love for his nephew. He finds a family after growing up with no affection.
When Helen finds put the truth Leon has to tell her the truth and admit that he fell in love with from the start. They have some bumpy times but she has loved him from the beginning and finding out his real motivation was to marry HER they reach a happy ending.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2019The story was great, but the ending had me thinking that the author had to have been in some sort of emotional state. Because the character of the hero changed so drastically it is unbelievable and destroyed the story for me. I also read a review by a few others, who had a problem with the hero having sex with his ex mistress the night before he was married and my reaction to that after reading the book and taking into consideration the character and feelings of the hero is that this who found this to be a problem most definitely judged not with the character in mind but because of their own prejudice of their life experience and bitterness as the result.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2007Leon is one of those sexy Alpha males who can come across as domineering and hateful, but he grows a a character in this book. His mother had post-natal depression, so one minute she was loving and the next she was hateful toward him, so he's not too keen on love or women, except for one thing :)
Fortunately for Helen, Leon decides after they marry for his nephew's/her guardian's sake, that he can quite happily devote himself to that "one thing" with her several times a day. She doesn't think too much of Leon because her friend, his younger sister, told her how unreasonable and chauvinistic her brother and father were.
That's why she basically gave her son to Helen to raise and popped over for visits. She told Helen when she turned 25 and gained control of her trust fund, she'd say to heck with them and raise her illegitimate son. She dies and Leon cruelly breaks the news to Helen and then says he'll take the young boy off her hands.
Helen is of course soft-hearted and quite attached to the youngster.
So Leon marries her both for the boy's sake and to keep control of his company, because the child has inherited his mother's shares in the business.
Although Leon denies the existence of love, he finds himself becoming more dependent on Helen so he labels it lust. As the story progresses and they share one marathon love session after another, Leon begins to see the light.
At the beginning of the book it's Leon who's the hardcase and Helen is lovesick for him. Around 3/4 of the way through, it's plain that the tables have turned. He's stupid in love with her and doesn't care who knows it.
There are of course a couple of misunderstandings before they can live happily ever after, but it's a nice journey for the reader just getting there. Recommended read.
