- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2021This is a brilliant book. I’ve been doing therapy for years. Nothing has been more on the mark. I dealt with child abuse and neglect, my dad was an alcoholic, my husband diedeim suicide. I’m very resilient but couldn’t put my finger on what was wrong. The first 100 pages changed my outlook on life. I’m one homework assignment in and I feel like a completely new human. I’m finally learning how to express myself. I feel set free. Thank you so much for this brilliant work.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2019I read this book and it helped me to channel my anger constructively, instead of repressing it. It's still a work in progress but this was a great help.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2011Excellent source of focus on the appropriate way to deal with God's will in my life. Bad things happen in this world and I do not always deal with them the right way. God will take us to a better place with the trials that he allows in our lives
. A place right next to Him. This is my testimony, and the book helped me to understand God's will for me in my experience. Glory to God and His Son who gracefully gave His life for me!!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2014Another gem by Beverly Engel. It is helping me understand the patterns of anger in my life and how I use that anger. It has enabled me to see how I have treated certain people in my life and how to change that behavior. I highly recommend this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2023I don’t feel this was helpful for me. I don’t have violent outbursts or get into physical altercations or throw things or scream at people. I just have a lot of anger inside of me and I’d like to know how to get it out or use or channel it properly. Maybe I didn’t get far along enough in the book, but I don’t feel that this particular title is useful for my situation. I don’t think it addresses my core issues, or at least I didn’t feel that way as I read the first several chapters.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2017This is a really good book on anger teaches a person lots of skills when dealing with things that can be difficult when very upset and needing a better solution to talk and get your views across.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2014I would say this is one of the best book I've read on anger management.
Anger management is not easy thing, and it can be frustrating at times.
But knowing how to control your anger or honor it means better life.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2014It is helping me understand things about myself and improving my communication skills. I highly recommend this book because it doesn't only teaches you about your specific anger style, but it should help you understand those around you.

Very good book to read especially if you are someone coming from a dysfunctional family with lots of personal issues. Gives perspective and understanding to things you don't know how to deal with or didn't know why you felt in that way. I certainly recommend reading it to everyone. Helps with everyday life.
