I loved this book. I loved how the story flowed, the little details, and the emotions I felt while reading this book. I felt bad for both Sarah and Cooper when Sarah first told Cooper she was pregnant. I could feel the emotions that they felt. I know Cooper was angry, and hurt, but he still took care of Sarah when she almost fainted. I loved the end of this book too! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. I could see myself reading this book again.

Here is a sample from chapter 8
The bullets started flying and Sarah dropped to the floor and crawled toward the opening. It's Mc Donough! C'mon, babe! Move It. Coop was on his stomach, returning fire. McDonough's path must have been blocked by rubble. Or she'd done some real damage to his eyes. His shots went wide. She scraped her fingers over the splintered wood, pinched her foot in a tumbling pile of bricks. Come on. Mc Donough's cursing abruptly stopped, and she heard footsteps scrabbling through the debris, then running to the back of the house. He has the lock codes. Sarah warned, pushing herself up onto her hands and knees. He'll escape out the back. Let him run. Coop grabbed a fistful of her shirt and helped pull her through the last few inches. She tumbled into him and clung to his solid, real warmth. But just as quickly, he was pushing her away, pulling her to her feet. Are you all right? She was breathless, achy, scared.

I'm not sure why this hasn't gotten higher marks. There was a little jumping around but nothing more then a chapter or two. It was a surprising sweet story. I liked that it was the strong male character that felt his feelings were unrequited instead of the female. Each character had a good reason to feel the way they did. There wasn't much of the typical bull of misunderstood actions/words. That gets old real quick so it was nice to read a book that didn't have that. There was plenty of action, not too much romance but you could tell they loved each other through their actions (that was also a nice change of pace). This is only my second book by Miller but based on this one I'm a fan. Hope you enjoy this book as much as I have. Enjoy!

Coop has always loved Sarah but her twin brother is his partner. The line is drawn. Sarah has always been so good but the one time she goes for a walk on the wild side.... she finds out her dad used her to pay off a gambling debt and she witnesses a murder. Coop goes to check on her and comfort turns to passion. He thinks he has finally gotten what he has always wanted but she tells him it's a mistake.

I love Cooper Bellamy. He is a cop, devoted son and brother, cancer survivor and good man. He gets a little mean when Sarah comes to tell him she is pregnant but he is determined to protect her with his life.

I loved this book but I did not give it 5 stars because of the same reason the other reviewer mentioned. A few details were skipped over quickly that I would have liked to see drawn out more. Less Shaw/Teddy and a little more to the scene regarding paternity would have been great.

I would recommend this book.

This is one of my favorite books in the KCPD series and it's all because of my crush on Cooper! Cooper and Sarah's romance is a great balance of sexy/sweet. Add the action, suspense, and meddling family members and you end up with one great read!

This was a good book. It had some sad moments but overall it was a great book. I loved the ending and thought the book ended great. I like books that have an epilogue of sorts to let the readers see how it ends. This was another edge of your seat book and I really enjoyed it.

This book didn't wow me, I skipped over parts because of too much "chatter" not getting to the point. But when there needed to be more leading into something it wasn't there. Things went way too fast at the end of the book and didn't really tie up loose ends.

The guy has a sense of humor, and it really made the book one to remember. The characaters were well rounded. You got to know them and love them. I loved the main characters and I loved the plot. There was a lot of action in the book but it didn't take the whole thing over. The romance and the plot were well balanced.
The only thing that I will say about the book that I didn't like was the fact that it jumped around. Sometimes you read a book where the author takes you from one scene to another and it skips over the interesting stuff but not the important stuff. You always get the point, but to me there's something missing. I don't know if I'm making any sense... The best I can say is she makes things short and sweet in a scene and she doesn't take time to draw it out... at all. One minute there in a hotel room and the next there in the car.
She did it well. Sometimes I feel like I'm really missing out when this happens, but the fact the she did it well doesn't mean that I can honestly say that I like it. Sometimes drawing out a scene is better then just ending it. My best example is the ending and I can't give that away. I guess you'll have to read it yourself and see if you get what I'm saying.
The book is really realistic. (as realistic as a romance can get anyway.)Good things happen to good people and some bad things happen to good people.
All in all the book was a really good read and one I'll always rememeber.

with enough suspense to keep you from sleeping.
The stories of this serie are all readable as stand alones, but if you read more than one, it's nice to meet some characters again and keep up with their lives, as well.
Like in all her books, Julie Miller adds a little drama to the past of the heroes, a little sadness which has to be healed by love, and enough suspense to make the stories interesting and enjoyable beyond the usual love stories.
