Scream for Me (Romantic suspense Book 8) Kindle Edition
Special Agent Daniel Vartanian has sworn to find the perpetrator of multiple killings that mimic a 13-year-old murder linked to a collection of photographs that belonged to his brother, Simon, the ruthless serial killer who met his demise in Die for Me. Daniel is certain that someone even more depraved than his brother committed these crimes, and he's determined to bring the current murderer to justice and solve the mysterious crime from years ago.
With only a handful of images as a lead, Daniel's search will lead him back through the dark past of his own family, and into the realm of a mind more sinister than he could ever imagine. But his quest will also draw him to Alex Fallon, a beautiful nurse whose troubled past reflects his own. As Daniel becomes attached to Alex, he discovers that she is also the object of the obsessed murderer. Soon, he will not only be racing to discover the identity of this macabre criminal, but also to save the life of the woman he has begun to love.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2008Alex Fallon came back to her hometown in Dutton, Georgia, after she received a call from Social Services telling her that her stepsister Bailey was missing. Bailey's traumatized four-year-old daughter Hope was left alone. Alex had a troubled childhood. She barely survived after her twin sister Alicia and her mother were killed. Putting her painful past behind her has been very difficult, but Alex has done pretty well, until she arrives in Dutton to care for Hope.
Special Agent Daniel Vartanian of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is originally from Dutton as well and he has his own demons to slay. Two weeks ago, his mentally unstable brother murdered seventeen people, including Daniel's parents. After taking a leave of absence for two weeks, Daniel is back on the job investigating the rape and murder of a young woman from Arcadia, Georgia. His search for the killer leads him to Dutton where he discovers that a similar crime was committed thirteen years ago. The similarities between Alicia's murder and the woman found in Arcadia are striking. Alex and Daniel both search for answers. Alex is trying desperately to find Bailey, and Daniel needs to find a murderer. They begin to unravel secrets that some would kill to keep hidden. As Alex is drawn unknowingly into the killer's web, Daniel is right by her side, trying to keep her safe while trying to solve the crime.
Dutton is a town filled with deadly and disturbing secrets. As more women are killed, will Alex and Daniel be able to uncover the truth and stop the killers before Alex becomes the next victim?
Scream For Me is a dark and gripping story with phenomenal characterization. Whether they are villainous or heroic, each character is flawlessly written. Every day Alex fights to keep her demons at bay. She is amazingly strong. Daniel is Alex's rock and her protector. He is a magnificent hero. Bailey's plight broke my heart, and the villains are sadistic and show no remorse. Scream For Me is a graphic novel of romantic suspense. Alex and Daniel's romance grows alongside the story's macabre events as they unfold. The pages of Scream For Me are filled with disturbing images of brutal crimes. I was on the edge of my seat, captivated by the gruesome storyline and the loving relationship between Alex and Daniel. Scream For Me is my first Karen Rose novel but definitely not my last. I love the way she writes!

- Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2008I started off reading Karen Rose with one of her middle books (You can't hide, excellent read), then moved on chronologically from there. By the time I got to 'Die for me', I'd pre-ordered 'Scream for me', which happens to be her hardcover debut. I've since gone back and bought everything she's ever written and Karen Rose has become an automatic buy for me.
I must agree with some of the reviewers here-I thought this was her weakest book so far. Maybe coming off of 'Die for me', my expectations were too high. Having said all that, I still give the book 4 stars because it was a great read, just not up to the standards I've come to expect from Ms. Rose. I loved Daniel right off when he was introduced in Die for me, and I loved, loved, loved him in this book-the plot was just a little off for me. If you want a good introduction to Karen Rose books, start with 'Don't tell' and work from there. You won't regret it. Looking forward to more from this author, hopefully a return to her excellent form.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2008After a string of brutal murders takes Special Agent Daniel Vartanian to Philadelphia, dark secrets from the past bring him back to Dillon, GA. There he meets Alex Fallon, whose own tortured past has forced her to return to the last place she ever wanted to go.
Compelled to search for a missing person from her painful past, Alex becomes entangled in the investigation of a copy cat murderer. The original murder is what sent her away from Dillon years ago.
In a town where nobody is who they seem, years of secrets and lies erupt in a series of murders. And when Daniel discovers that Alex is a target of the killer, he races to discover the truth and protect the woman he finds himself falling in love with.
Roses' eighth novel and hardcover debut, SCREAM FOR ME is her best yet.
It is the second in Roses' FOR ME trilogy but is outstanding as a stand alone novel. Readers will appreciate Roses' trademark bone-chilling suspense, diabolical plot twists and secondary characters who all cry out for a sequel of their own. And they are sure to appreciate this sturdy hardcover, because it will go on their keeper shelf to be read again and again.

Another wonderful read from Karen Rose, and sure to go on her many fans' keep shelf. Can't wait for KILL FOR ME next month!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2015Karen Rose is one of my favorite romance authors. I have just started reading her novels and I can't seem to stop! Scream For Me isn't my favorite of her offerings that I have read so far but I still found it engaging, suspenseful, and romantic. This book follows the same plot line as many of her others. A serial killer on the loose, other mal-contents working in the background against the hero and heroine independent of the main villain, bodies piling up while the hero and heroine investigate and get closer and as always, the heroine getting captured by the villain at the end only to be rescued by the hero. The formula is tried and true and though predictable, still enjoyable.

One of the photos comes back to haunt and then breaks into a seedy conspiracy. Daniel and Alex's relationship was hot. I felt for Bailey. This is part of a three book series. They should be read in order, though there are separate main romantic relationships in each book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Have to have your wits about you!
This is not a typical good cop - girl in trouble - he sorts it out they fall in love and all is well. So if you like something with a harder edge and a complex plot with lots of twists and turns and a good cop (in and with lots of trouble); girl (ditto) then give this a go.
Daniel (good cop) with the GBI has made some startling discoveries involving his family, his own community appears to be disintegrating and the catalyst for the majority of the problems is Alex Fallon in his home town looking for her missing stepsister. Whilst they both have lots of baggage from their past and current high octane problems the relationship between the two main characters is well balanced, there is minimal repetition and the passion is well drawn and realistic.
The remaining cast are introduced and reappear regularly enough to give them some depth without them overshadowing Daniel and Alex (although I would like to hear a little more about Luke!!).
There are however, lots of other characters involved in this quite convoluted plot - which you decide you have solved and then something else happens - and you were wrong. Harsh material is dealt with in an honest and sensitive manner - but I did get lost with who was whom a couple of times (must be old age).
A definite must read if you enjoy a fast paced, highly charged and well written read - bit of romance, lots of murder and some very good characterisation.
Excellent - can't wait for the next one ('specially if it's about Luke!)
