Indiscriminate Attraction (Kimani Romance Book 91) Kindle Edition

4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 11 ratings

Fitness guru Chad Kingston gave up on women the day his jet-setting mother abandoned him and his identical twin. Growing up, he vowed he would always be there for his brother. So when Brad turned his back on the Kingston fortune to live on the streets, Chad went after him. He dressed in shabby, soiled clothes and searched homeless shelters, hoping to find his brother. But Chad was always steps behind Bradford, until he met Laylah Versailles. The volunteer had valuable information about Brad. She was also determined to turn Chad's "down-and-out" life around. But even as she worked to spruce up his inner man, the very luscious Laylah was having a more heated effect on Chad's exterior.…

Chad didn't know that Laylah also had secrets. And now that they'd grown closer, would Laylah's unwitting betrayal remind Chad why he'd vowed never to trust a woman with his heart?

As a reader of many genres, I find it so hard to believe that people don't balk at men taking up with prostitutes and cleaning them up, like in Pretty Woman, yet they have a totally different standard for what kind of men women hookup with. I'd like to point out that many homeless men or women are highly educated and made good money. Aren't we all just a paycheck away from being homeless.

There were some very good points made in this book, but shallow people might miss them. Dollars and cents don't always speak to a person's character. Not only that, the guy had gone undercover to look for his twin.

I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to those with an open mind. What's the difference with going home with a wealthy man and sleeping with him on the firt day versus getting to know a homeless person who probably has a very interesting life story? I find that the very people who go out of there way to make negative comments or put others down, they're only looking for a way to try in lift themselves up.

Came across this book in a thrifted bulk box and decided it would be my read of the week. BIG MISTAKE. The beginning didn't draw me in, and 4 chapters in I'm calling it quits. Not finishing a novel is a peeve of mine but this book is just not worth my time.

The plot is just not there for me. My 2-star rating only elevated fromd 1 because I don't know what the rest of the book holds.

It also annoys me that the guy in the book is referred to as Chance (Chamcellor) in the book, but Chad on the back in the synopsis. What the heck editors?!

I didn't find the story to be that good because the author added unnecessary conflict. Everything was going fine throughout the story but the added conflict did not need to be there. I felt like she ran out of things to do and add it towards the end. It was really trivial and unbelievable. From the tone of the story you can tell what was going to happen. The ending messed up the story.

Okay so this book by Linda Hudson Smith is just unreal to me. I'm not feeling Linda Hudson-Smith. I mean, to fall in love with a homeless man sounds too far fetched. I'm sure it's happened but I mean come on now. And Laylah, oh my god, her character is just too naive and just how she talks was almost fragile like. She also was too trusting to invite this "homeless" man into her home after the second day of meeting him to give him a job at the house was just so stupid. The use of the word "darn" was such overkill, it made me use the word "damn" in it's place just so it sounds more real. So I don't recommend this book at all. Keep it right on the shelves of your local store that carries Kimani or borrow it if you really want to read it.
