I found myself enjoying the authors layers of the Greek cuisine, famous scenery through to the seasonal changes in Canada. And then the tentative development of Mikos and Gina's love affair - from Mikos over-paranoia of security clearances in checking out Gina's background while wooing her. To Gina desperately protecting herself and worrying for her mother's diminishing health.

But Gina has her own agenda and has shocks for both Mikos and overbearing mentor, Angelo, a rapidly aging tyrannical billionaire. When Mikos bitterly lashes out at Gina for her deceit, she cuts right back how he was just as underhanded if not more, pretending to woo after he forced her into his car. But all the time his security team has broken into her hotel room and pawed thru her belongings. That shut him up quick smart, lol.

Look for the scene where Gina takes on the formidable Angelo and even Mikos gets a laugh at Angelo's stunned face when Gina roars right back at Angelo, refusing to be bullied. Sadly a family crisis shatters Gina and even Mikos's staff are in distress for Gina's pain. A sweet touch I though.

'Her falling wasn't what worried Mikos. It was the fear that she might break and that even his strength and indomitable will wouldn't be enough to put her back together again'. Gorgeous isn't it? Worth the read, I love it.

This is one of the few catherine spencer books I own and I must say I was skeptical about buying it, but then I was pleasantly suprised when I seat down and read it. Mikos and Gina compliment eachothers personality. He is a strong assertive male and for once a harlequin male character's attributes are not focused on his mega rich status but rather his personality is revealed through the loyalty that he shows to his employer and later on when he supports Gina in her trials and tribulations. Gina was a breath of fresh air also because she was strong and able to stand on her own two feet no matter the circumstances that life dealt her and also she didn't allow Mikos dominant personality to intimidate her either. This was an enjoyable read and a pleasant surprise at that.......
