A courtesan’s daughter is shocked to be named in her guardian’s will—as a bequest to his handsome nephew—in this scandalous Regency romance.

Dover, 1816. Daughter of a Parisian courtesan, Sylvia Boisette longs for respectability, though gossips say she is nothing more than a gentleman’s paramour. Now, with her guardian dead, she finds herself in a shocking situation. . . .

Christopher Evernden is appalled to learn that his uncle has just left him Mademoiselle Boisette, with all expenses paid! About the Author

Ann Lethbridge majored in history and business. She always loved the glamorous, if rather risky, Georgians and in particular the Regency era as drawn by Georgette Heyer. It was that love that prompted her to write her first Regency novel in 2000. She found she enjoyed it so much she just couldn’t stop! Ann gave up a career in university administration to focus on her first love, writing novels and lives in Canada with her family. Visit her website at: www.annlethbridge.com

Born in England and now living in Canada, Ann grew up loving history, but majored in business, with history on the side. She has a husband and two lovely daughters and a Maltese Terrier called Teaser, who likes to sit on a chair beside the computer while she works.

Beginning her career as a University Administrator, her love of the past and the stories in her imagination brought her to a fork in the road.

After writing her first novel in 2000, a never-see-the-light-of-day-effort, and having her first book published in 2006, she decided to write full time in 2008 and hasn't looked back.

She loves the Georgian era, and within that, the period known as the long Regency. She also adores happy endings.

The Rake's Inherited Courtesan is well written with an excellent heroine and good insight into the prejudices of the social mores and rules of Regency England. There is a mysterious sub-plot with some very tense scenes. The final denouement is a bit simple but it is a nice read.

If you still you are looking for a book this one definitely delivered on the romance and gallantry. Sylvia and Christopher have great chemistry.

This was a great read. I accidentally came across this author when a got her book Wicked Rake, Defiant Mistress free (which was also a great read). She writes in and easy to read style and the characters are well written and believeable. The mysteries in the stories keep you intreagued till the end. Can't wait for her next historiacal which will hopefully be about Garth.
