Lee Wilkinson writing career began with short stories and serials for magazines and newspapers before going on to novels. She now has more than twenty Mills & Boon romance novels published. Amongst her hobbies are reading, gardening, walking, and cooking but travelling (and writing of course) remains her major love. Lee lives with her husband in a 300-year-old stone cottage in a picturesque Derbyshire village, which, unfortunately, gets cut off by snow most winters!

    The description of the book was what had me reading this book although there were no reviews. I learned before that books that dont have reviews have a 25% chance of beeing a good read. This book was in that catagory. Although I am starting to get tired of reading books that have a HEA thinking the worst of the situation and not thinking it out properly, which results in years of loss between the H/HEA, this book is still a good read. I give it 4.5 stars and not 5 because i do wish it had an epilogue to continue on with what happened after they got everything straightened out..

    Perdita Boyd has one chance to save her father's ailing business and there's only one man that can help her do it. Unfortunately, that one man is Jared Dangerfield - the sexy, dangerous man who also happens to be her estranged husband.

    Married in a secret ceremony, Jared and Perdita were young and in love. But when Jared seemingly betrayed Perdita on their wedding night, she left and managed to stay hidden for three years. But now Jared's back and ready to take his revenge and ensure he gets the wedding night he's due.

    I liked the premise for this book as I always like a `second chance at love' story. Being part of the Modern Mills & Boon line, I was expecting the strong, ruthless man and a woman perfect for him. However there were times that I thought that Perdita was a little too weak and almost pathetic compared to Jared. With his strong, domineering ways it would have been nice to see her match him rather than sometimes come across as bending to his will. It wasn't all the time but it irked me a little!

    Overall the plot is quite basic but easy to understand and perfectly believable for the most part. It's not demanding and I enjoyed reading about Perdita and Jared and the evolving love story up to the inevitable conclusion. I would have liked the ending to be a little bit more fleshed out with perhaps an epilogue but it was satisfying nonetheless.

    If you're looking for an enjoyable, readable Modern romance story that takes you away for a couple of hours then I would recommend this book to you. It's not earth shattering but I enjoyed it and it did the job. 3 stars.

    I liked this book, the author Lee Wilkinson writes nice easy stories that flow along and are easy to follow. Perdita married Jared, she was madly in love with him but on their wedding night she catches him in a compromising situation. She has refused to speak or seen him ever since. Now her Father's business is in trouble, he has also suffered a serious heart attack so it is up to Perdita to save the business she has an arranged meeting with the finance director of another business to try to arrange a salvage package, she is to meet him at the airport before he flies out to the US, she is shown onto a private jet, but the man she is expecting to meet is not who appears, instead it is her ex-husband Jared, and to Perditas horror the plane is taking off. She has been kidnapped by her ex-husband! I liked the two leads in this story, they are both very strong characters, there is a full cast of supporting characters who help flesh out the story. A nice read.
