- Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2011Enjoy the story line, and it was sweet. A very quick read, I have found a nice enjoyable comfort with titles from this auther.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2010This book was more of a fairy-tale. Why do authors describe their lead heroine, tall, long legs, long hair with green eyes? It has become a bore. It seems like if you don't have these attributes you are not beautiful. I want to read about characters that has flaws its makes the story realistic, when everybody is so perfect its not believable.
Darius, president of his own Film Production Company hires Courtney to cater an engagement party. Courtney assumes the engagement party is for Darius fiance. Courtney is attracted to Darius but tries to withhold her feelings because he is already in a committed relationship. Darius is constantly inviting Courtney out and spending a lot of time with her. What makes this story ridiculous is that she keeps asking her self why is he spending time with her when he is suppose to be engage..... well WHY DON"T YOU ASK HIM!!!! Finally when she finds out that his so called fiance is his sister, she now have trust issues. I didn't finish this book because it was flat and didn't hold my interest. I don't like to give bad reviews, but when I pay my money I deserve better.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2010I swear I don't know why I keep buying books by this author. I must be getting desperate. Every book I TRY and read by her bores me half to death. The story in general has potential but she ruins it with the unrealistic dialogue. I can't read a story that sounds fake. The dialogue seemed too stilted or just plain boring. I tried my hardest to get through this book but I couldn't. It's frustrating because it seems like she's trying too hard to create the romance. Romance should be everyday people falling in love not a clueless dummy (Courtney) and some dude named Darius.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2010This book missed its mark. It was so annoying, I didn't even want to bother reading it.
I mean, secrets are kept from the two leads, from the very beginning, all of which make the budding relationship seem improbable. And more importantly, never meant to happen.
I was so annoyed with the facade of "cool" that is referenced here. Be real. Be you.
Go for what will make you happy. And for gosh sakes, stop avoiding truth.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2010I had doubts about this book before I had barely begun the 1st chapter. The dialogue was drab and uninteresting. Since the storyline seemed promising I continued, thinking I would eventually get into it. I was wrong; I quit reading it somewhere during the suprise party. Oh, so boring!!!
