Happy Summer! (Finally...LOL)

In August, my # 80-something book releases. His Convenient Princess from Harlequin Romance. This book is especially dear to my heart as it finishes a series we called Scandal in the Palace about a king and his two prince sons. Liam's book, I think, is the best of the three! Having lost the love of his life he asks his father to arrange a marriage for him and what results in pure chaos.

I've written some fun things...short romantic comedies... those are the Silhouette Romance titles.

My Harlequin Romances are a little (sometimes a lot) more serious and emotional than my Silhouettes and Entangled Bliss titles, but I always deliver a heartwarming story that reminds readers that family and love go hand in hand.

Sweet, funny, sad or sexy, my characters make some serious lemonade out of their lemons! :)

Because that's how I see life. I have three kids...one of whom we lost to epilepsy in 2018. Raising him taught me (and my husband and our other two kids) that sometimes a situation that seems bad can have its blessings.

Also, being raised in a family of 11 kids (yes, 11) I learned a lot about sharing and how love encompasses more than just romance.

Having been with my husband for a long time, I still believe the best thing in life is romantic love. Being treasured, respected and wanted.

So pick up one of my books this week or weekend and see my sometimes wacky, sometimes heartrending vision of real love!

There's something about Susan's romances that keep me, strictly a mystery reader, completely engrossed. She keeps me rooting for the heroine, rooting for the hero, rooting for their happy ending, and, almost always, rooting for a child involved in the outcome of the story.

Lots of angst. Lots of melodrama. Lots of thinking and re-thinking and examining why the re-thinking took place. But, the story was sweet and second-chancy and there was a hunky millionaire and beautiful woman involved. It's all good, but sometimes I just wanted to roll my eyes at the silly behavior.

The traditional 200 page potboiler romance features an alpha male and a malleable female. She usually starts out strong and modifies her thinking and action to mesh with the male by the end of the story. Maybe this writer wanted to do a different take. She starts with an 'emotional cripple' of a male (who otherwise looks alpha-esque), and we're to believe he is healed by the end of the story. Sorry I don't buy it. I don't advise you to, either.

Was browsing in the used bookstore and found this gem which starts with a bang. A near-naked man running into his ex-wife? This story was a lot of fun to read.
