- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2017This one had plenty of substance, along with the lovely romance. Both Jenna and Ryan had disappointing marriages in the past, and Jenna has the added responsibility of being a single mom to a 15 year old girl, starting a new job, and moving to an island where neither of them have any previous connections. I especially liked that the roadblock to romance wasn't something stupid that either of them said or did. This is one I'll be reading again.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2011This was my first foray into Harlequin's Medical Romance line, and I will admit up front that I don't read many series books.
The book opens with Jenna Richards moving to a small island community for a nursing job after her husband and she were divorced. We learn that Jenna and her ex were very young when they were married, and she's basically been a doormat for him over the years, until he cheats on her. Jenna is also bringing her teenage daughter along for the ride to the island, and a lot of the book is centered on how well the teenager is adapting to the move.
Enter Ryan McKenley. He's one of the doctors in the office that hired her. The usual gorgeous, smart, and funny dream man.
Overall I thought this was a well-written story, and I enjoyed it. My only issues were
1.) as mentioned above, the length - I really didn't feel like we had time to really examine Jenna's and Ryan's relationship progression, and the author had to do a lot of this by telling us via inner monologues, instead of being able to show the two getting closer
2.) I thought the teeneager angry at being moved away from her friends trope was a little too basic, and a much overused plot point, but again, overall, I felt the author did well with the space she had.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2014When Jenna goes to Glennmore to get over a divorce the last thing she needs is to become attacted to the resident doctor, Ryan. She has a child who needs her attention. Can they get together? With the help of local matchmakers anything is possible. Have read several books by Sarah Morgan and will again.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2024Didn't like any of the characters too much except maybe for Ryan. He was indeed a dreamy doc. Otherwise both Jenna and Lexie were poorly portrayed. Pass.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2017This was a quick light read. I love her style; you feel a part of the situation. Excellent balance between romance and reality.
