I am a longstanding Debra Webb fan but couldn't quite make sense of this novel. It started out like the Debra Webb of old but by the end it just fizzled out and the reason for the method of murder used by the villain wasn't explained. The hero was initially mysterious-- possessing depth,tension, and character,and had a real connection to the heroine, like the original Colby Agency books. I think Ms. Webb needed more time to really flush out this story since it is somewhat of a supernatural plot. As I stated, this book did start with that old Webb magic which seems to be missing in many of her recent endeavors, where the romantic stories are just a brief by-product of the mysteries. I plan to re-read Urban Sensation to see if I missed something? Perhaps Ms. Webb can pen a follow-up to the story for a more satisfactory read? I don't know.... Webb has become so in demand and prolific, it seems there is a shadow writer, with a distinctly male bent, penning some novels under her name. Still good-- but not the same magic.
