The Strong Silent Type (Cavanaugh Justice Book 5) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 136 ratings

Until Jack Hawkins, Teri Cavanaugh had never encountered a case she couldn't crack or a cop whose life wasn't an open book after day one as her partner. Male detectives wanted to be "Hawk." Women flat-out wanted him. Teri simply wanted to know the man behind the badge, because her sixth sense smelled a story. Hawk resisted, but a good cop knew the value of patience....

Of course, a good cop also knew not to kiss one's partner. Or to cross the line from being partners to being lovers. Yet Teri was guilty on both counts and, worse, seemed powerless to stop what she had started...

This is another great book that keeps you reading and on the edge of your seat waiting for the next problem to happen. You get action, suspense, danger and a puzzle to piece together. This family is amazing and will protect each other always. Wife and mother missing 15 years they found her. Yah

This was a wonderful book. The hero did not know what he was missing until it was gone. Thank goodness the heroine was a forgiving person.

i like the cavanaugh justice series. the plots are easy and they make light reading. i am especially intrigued with the sub plot that runs through them of the missing mother. the plot was not finished in this book (shucks i need to read the next one too) a nice book to curl up with on a rainy day or to read over time (because the plot is easy enough to keep up with with long breaks in between. not great litature, but fun.

Stand alone read. 5th in Cavanaugh Justice series of 29 books.

GOOD READ. Well written, appealing opposites-attract storyline, great descriptive imagery, complex characters, sassy, funny dialogue, great secondary cast, strong family theme, a sweet, sizzling romance, and an endearing ending (i.e. no shootout) with the hero realizing that he has grown and wants more out of life than he thought possible. THERE are a few minor inconsistencies, but they do not detract from this intense, heart touching storyline.

THE STORY follows partners, reticent loner, Detective Jack “Hawk” Hawkins and upbeat, outgoing, Detective Teri Cavanaugh as they work together to break up a home invasion ring. Between her non-stop talking and his monosyllabic responses, they drive each other crazy every day. But, both care more deeply than either will admit and a sizzling hot attraction develops into a sweet, complicated romance (bpl).

OVERALL, heart touching storyline, smart, well developed characters, and a endearing romance, makes for a fun read. CAVANAUGH JUSTICE is a series of 29 books, starting with Racing Against Time (2003). Ignore the cover art; he's a detective, not uniformed police.

You may also enjoy the complex characters and storytelling of N. Bruhns, A. Stuart, and E. Palfrey. For good mystery/detective writers you might try J. D. Robb, D. Stabenow, S. Grafton, S. Sala, Gayle Wilson, and Julie Miller.

I am quite enjoying reading about the Cavanaugh family and how Andrew found his wife after she went missing 15 years ago. I can't wait to read the next book to this series and I would recommend it to anyone who likes to read about the Cavanaugh family series.
