I didn't like how Evie and Rio meet due to people's actions and Rio's
lack of trust, but this turned to be a sensual romance with both
Evie and Rio learning about each other and how they view Christmas.
I enjoyed it very much. Adults 18+ only for steamy scenes. Must read.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved how Evie embraced the world, how she believed in Santa, Happy endings, and love.
Here is a small sample taken from chapter 5 - "Just because you haven't encountered a happy ending personally doesn't mean you stop believing in them."

Evie has been dealt a bad hand in life, yet she still believes the best could happen. She is homeless, set up, and now jobless. Can her spirit and inner love be enough to change the heart of a cynical, and sexy rich man? Rio had something heart breaking happen to him when he was 8 years old. He has hated Christmas ever since. He hates Christmas trees, music, and decorations. He works to hide away from the holidays.

I enjoyed that Rio slowly makes happy memories of the Holiday session with Evie to replace his bad ones. This story touched my heart.

I'm giving this book a 4, because parts of the book felt rushed. It skipped right over some things that happened that would have made this book perfect if it was written in detail. How can the plot lead up to one event, but then skip it altogether? I can't say more, or I will give the book away.

Billionaire Italian businessman Rico finds himself victim of a life-destroying setup in the penthouse of the London hotel he owns; humble but exuberant hotel employee Evie is a pawn in the game. He convinces her to help him avoid scandal that would taint a mystery deal he's been brokering for years by posing as his fiancée. Most of the story is the lively banter and situations in which the two find themselves, and discover each other. Both characters have childhood drama of loss and abandonment to overcome that colors their present. Just the right amount of drama, lightheartedness, romance and family. The "mystery deal" was definitely not what you'd expect! Nicely executed story, well-told.

Evie is the absolute best heroine I've ever read about in a Harlequin book. Usually the others have this one flaw of letting the hero think they're cheap and deceitful and selfish. But Evie was defensive and honest and real. She did everything the way a real person would, she felt real, she was real. I loved her story and I liked Rio. These two were so great for each other. And I LOVE that Evie's not the size of a pencil. She's real, and Rio likes that.

Very nice read. Rio is a ruthless businessman. Evie is an employee who's just lost her home and has no where to go. When her boss tells her she can stay in the penthouse for the night, she isn't expecting to wake up in the arms of a stranger and be embroiled in a possibly horrific scandal. A fake engagement seems in order but what happens when Evie falls in love with Rio? A good holiday romance.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Both Rio and Evie have had tragedy in their lives but one kept a positive outlook on life while the other let bitterness rule. Their meet greet was a setup hoping to discredit Rio. He thought Evie was in on it and didn't believe her. He used her for his plan but didn't tell her. When all the truths came out regarding their past, it was heartbreaking. I really enjoyed the way the book ended, even though I wasn't ready for it to end.

It is snowing outside...early dismissal from school. Tree decorated and house trimmed for Christmas. Now a hot cup of tea and this delightful Christmas season book. What a perfect book to read to get a feeling of Christmas. A true Harlequin romance. A happy ending to a perfect Christmas story. Please take my advice and choose this story to read today. You will not be sorry. A wealthy businessman and a sweet, hard working, young lady who recently lost her apartment and no where to go. Of course, it all works out in the end but it is so much fun getting there!

Even though you are pretty sure how it will turn out it is so worth readying. A fun book to read while sipping hot chocolate by the Christmas tree.
