Lovely book...love the story line, and love the characters especially Gareth's. I think he was a wonderful person. Will recommend it to any grown up person.

This was the first ML book I read some years aback. After this book I have sought to read all her new releases. I am hardly ever disappointed. Re reading this book has validated my choice of author. This story was interesting, creative and exciting. The characters played themselves out quite nicely. He showed true remorse and she toughened up. The beginning of the book caught my interest immediately. Her goodbye letter was fantastic. Everything was good with this book. A real keeper.

Leah overhears her husband saying that pretty much...he didn't love her. She, being heartbroken, leaves him, determined to start over. Months later a man who looks exactly like her husband turns up and convinces her that he is Gerard's estranged twin brother.

To be fair to Leah, when everyone she needed to confirm or deny this is in on the ruse except for her, and they convince her that her doubts are unjustified, that Gerard must in fact have a twin, I can't really fault her for believing him.

No, the problem I had was not so much that she believed the lie, or the fact that she has an 'affair' with a guy who is the spitting image of her husband, no, my real issue is Gerard being such a slimeball that he set out to trick his wife into thinking he was someone else. How about you approach like a real man and beg her forgiveness, beg her for a chance to see you've changed.

But no. Instead, he goes about trying to convince her he's a changed man...a better man, by lying and deceiving her. Hello? Now what could possibly go wrong with that scenario. Yet another jerk for a Harlequin hero.

Three stars because it was page turning and the sex scenes were steamy.

Fugitive Bride by Miranda Lee revolves around Leah , an innocent and naive girl who marries Gerard Woodward, who is everything a woman dreams of - powerful, wealthy and handsome.
Theirs is a perfect marriage with Gerard showering her with gifts and every material facilities available while Leah is the loyal and loving young wife. All seems fair and beautiful until one evening Leah hears her husband's views on marriage and love.

Devastated and feeling cheated, she decides to run far far away from her husband. Gerard, who is overconfident of his seducing skills is shocked when Leah leaves.
Six months later the fugitive bride comes face to face with her husband but surprisingly things are not as simple as they seem...

Can she face the man who cheated her into a false marriage feigning love to her and from whom she is running?
Can she overcome his influence and tell him that she knows everything?

Miranda Lee creates a unique story with passionate sequences, fiery conflicts and sultry scenes.
I simply loved the story and the passion between Leah and Gerard sears you with its intensity. The love and betrayal felt by Leah is stunningly portrayed by Miranda who makes the reader one with the heroine's plight.
A must read with some pretty unexpected twists.. :)

CONTAINS SPOILERS...Gerard married Leah nine months ago. Leah is madly in love with Gerard, he is tall dark handsome and rich. Although Gerard being rich meant little to Leah she would have loved him even if he were poor. Gerard dotes on her jewels, clothes, even an expensive car. Leah doesn't have a job Gerard prefers her to be a stay at home wife. Leah believes that Gerard is as madly in love with her as she is with him, after all he tells her he loves her every day.
Then she overhears Gerard talking to one of his friends, about how he chose a wife. Devastated Leah makes a plan to leave Gerard.
For six months Leah has been away from Gerard, and was starting to relax, that he was never going to find her. Then one day he turns up. Only he insists that he isn't Gerard but his estranged twin brother Gareth.

This story has a most ridicoulous plot, the hero is a manipulative idiot, while the heroine is TSTL. We are meant to believe that when Gerard turns up six months after Leah left him, pretending to be his twin that Leah wouldn't twig it. The fact that she believes him, is unconvincing as a plot device. Especially when everything about Gareth screams he is Gerard, the man is even wearing the same cologne. I expect to suspend belief when reading some stories, but this was a step too far IMO.

Enjoyed this book, bit OTT in Gerard and Gareth being twins, but the love and romance was lovely, too good to put down.
