Jonny Bowden, Ph.D., C.N.S., is a nationally known expert on weight loss, nutrition, and health.     I absolutely hate cooking, but I love a good meal as does the rest of my family. I ordered this book as a last resort when I realized my family was eating instant food several times a week for dinner. I know this is unhealthy because I have digestion issues and they get worse when I eat like this. I literally have about 15-30minutes to prepare a meal so this is perfect. I must admit though that it takes me more like 20-30 minutes for these granted I am probably terrible at chopping, locating the ingredients I bought, etc. The largest section in this book says "prep to plate in 15 minutes," you're good at cooking, this is probably an accurate time frame. The 2nd section is "25 Tasty 15 min Prep and (Almost) Forget it Meals," so a little longer cook time. The 3rd section is "25 healthiest quick snacks" which i haven't tried yet, but they look yummy. Anyway, I am a total advocate for this book having a child jumping at my heels while I cook, but at least she gets something yummy and good for her when I'm done. Tip for disorganized time-limited people like me: pick your recipe and make your grocery list the night before, pick he stuff up on the way home the next day, cook it for dinner! Good luck!

    The recipes in this cookbook have all been easy to prepare and very tasty! I wouldn't say 15 minutes is really how long it takes from beginning to end, but all have been under 30 minutes. The ingredients lists are all fairly short, and the prep instructions no more than a paragraph. For each recipe, there is a paragraph describing what makes the dish so healthy. I bought another quick healthy meals cookbook, but it relied a lot on packaged goods. This one uses whole foods similar to what Michael Pollan recommends eating.

    The food it this book is really good. It uses easily accesible food and easy techniques, and tells you want is good about the ingredents. However, the recipies are more like 15 min active time. Some are from start to finish 15 minutes, but most are 15 minutes prep and then baking. Also the nutritional information for the recipe is pretty useless because it will say: serves 4 to 6 and then gives a calorie count such as 200 calories per serving, so I am not sure if that is for a quarter or a sixth of the dish, also the ingredent list with have use ground beef, turkey, or veggie crumbles so you aren't sure which one of those the nutritional information used.
    I have tried several of the recipes and enjoyed everything so far with plans to try more. It is a worthwhile book and I definetly recomend it!

    I'm on a low carb diet so not all of these recipes fit my needs. But the ones that do are just what I needed! It's hard to do fast and easy on low carb.

    True some things can take longer than stated but I have good knife skills and prefer to save the $ rather than the time. I have used several of the very low cal recipes for intermittent fasting for weight loss and health-- several of the recipes are under 270 cal. Just over 2 months later, we haven't had to make the same meal twice yet, and 14 lbs lighter - I have never lost weight this easily and I am a 49 y/o female. After my results hubby got on Board too. Check out Michael Mosley and the 5:2 intermittent fasting regimen. This book has made the protocol a lot tastier on the fasting days and my kids (10, 13 and 19) have enjoyed the meals too. They said many of them are restaurant quality.

    I admit I don't often write reviews, but I felt that this book deserved a good shout-out. It's my go-to cookbook. The introduction explains some helpful basics of eating and buying "healthy". Many of the recipes have full-page color photos, although I like many of those without photos. Some recipes might take a squish more than 15 minutes, but it's hardly noticeable. Here's my bottom line: I needed an easy cookbook that fit the eating habits that worked for me, and this one is my favorite. The food is delicious, simple, and easy. This helps me avoid the sugar, flour, trans fat, etc. products that were my downfall before, and it's not about dieting. It's just a way to eat more nutrient-dense food. (And I'm now maintaining an ideal weight with low cholesterol and no hunger.) Try it!

    I originally borrowed this book from the library, but knew almost immediately that I wanted to buy it.
    The recipes are very appealing and most seem easy. A few have unusual ingredients, but I enjoy trying new things.
    I gave the book to both my husband and son and had them choose 10 dishes they would be willing to try. They had no
    problem finding that many.
    So far I have made five and all of them have been great.
    I do however think that most dished take more than 15 minutes to prepare, but the tastiness and healthfulness of the
    food more than makes up for it.

    This book is written with tons of healthy living information, all done in an easy-to-read, conversational and user-friendly format. The yummy recipes are clearly described with great illustrations and nutritional information that is easy to interpret. It is a first on my list of must-haves! If you want an easy-to-prepare recipe that clearly states the good stuff it will give you, purchase this book!

    This is such a nice book, all the recipes are good and for the ones I tried, I did indeed made them in 15 minutes.
    Both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised. We have now adopted several of those recipes.

    Recipes are well explained both on how to do them as well as what it brings you to eat it.
    It is also easy to eat healthy on a budget and on time with this book

    Friends, family have marvel at this book, even my doctor took a picture so she can order the book herself.

    Highly recommended.

    If you are a lazy couch potato like me, who fancy a quick meal fix just so you could get glued in front of your TV screen far longer than usual and not miss another 'Go Compare' Ad (God, I hate that moustache man!) then this is the book for you. Not only it is a quick fix, it also helps improves your health in a great way. Plus, I don't have feel guilty anymore... yay!
