A Marriage Betrayed Kindle Edition
A woman’s search for her birth family leads her to a passionate and vengeful stranger in this classic contemporary romance.
Adopted but now alone, Kristy went in search of her natural family. When Armand Dutournier burst into her life, accusing her of betrayals she had not committed, Kristy could only wonder—did she have a perfect double? Could she possibly have a twin?
Armand was her only lead to the family she yearned for, but his passionate drive for vengeance—and the powerful attraction between them—made accepting his proposition of a temporary intimacy highly dangerous!

- Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2014Although not a twin, I was completely convinced of the possibility of a psychic connection such as the one which the author uses between Colette and Kristy by the power of Emma Darcy's writing. Her reference to a less tragic example of the twin connection in her own family was not necessary to make me a believer. Normally I prefer my romances sprinkled with more humor than pathos but this story kept me riveted from the very beginning. Unlike too many other works this story of a young American nurse in search of her roots after the death of her adoptive parents doesn't drag out its developments in the false hope of creating suspense that feels trite; instead the story moves rapidly and satisfyingly so that not only does the emotion build but climaxes just as the tension becomes almost unbearable. Tears, confusion, anger are expertly offset by joy, passion and resolution. When Armand and Kristy finally give in to the attraction they feel for one another their resulting union is not only believable but right. Many of the author's works have brought me to both happy and sad tears, but this story of a family found by a woman who feared herself alone in the world even though her twin is physically lost to her really resonated with me. My only complaint was that the story ended before I was ready to let Kristy, Armand and the two children go although their HEA seems guaranteed because he is a man who obviously learns from his mistakes.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2006I don't like to give away much plot-line, because I find it can ruin the enjoyment of surprise; so I like to share thoughts & impressions of a book, instead--especially if someone has already gone over the main points.
If you are tired of a woman being a push-over, then you should love this book. Kristy is a force to be reckoned with, and I really liked her style of not backing down or being intimidated by *anybody* she came in contact with. There were some surprises in this book because of that different type of personality than the normal Harlequin heroine character, and some of them took getting used to, which I liked, also.
I felt like I knew the 2 main characters, Kristy and Armand, quite well by the end of the book; and fell in love with their love story. There were some wonderful divine interventions or coincidences in this book, which gave it a special quality I have never come across in this type of book, before.
The story takes place in France, with the main hero Armand a native. There is some satisfying verbal butt-kicking that the heroine does against those who hurt a relative she never met, and I was *so* glad not to see another woe-is-me victim that still maintained her femininity & charm. Too many times there are unresolved issues that leave us feeling unsatisfied, so seeing every important loose end tied up was fantastic.
Emma Darcy has a winner in this book. I hope many people will buy it and enjoy it, like I did!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2020I read The Wrong Mirror and that has always been my favourite. This book came close to that. I wished there was more and felt that the ending was a bit abrupt. But loved the main characters and enjoyed reading this book.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2017This is one of my favorite stories. I read it many years ago and had to have it on my Kindle after I lost my paperback copy. Some books you just never forget and can read over and over again.... This is one of those books! Worth buying twice.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother
Not a good story or very well written. I know it's a mills and boon and therefore going to be cheesy as hell, but this goes beyond! the characters are flat and dull, the story is beyond stupid. I would not bother, there are better ones out there...meh

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT STORY
I have always enjoyed reading Emma Darcy,s books and pleased that they were being released on .Kindle
. Unfortunately some of her older books have not been made available and this is a pity they are all equally good stories. However perhaps this will be changed in the near future !
