- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2012This is the third and final book in the "Minister's Daughters" series. This book focuses on the younges, Frannie, who suddenly moves out of her father's house when her new step-mother and step-sister moves in. Frannie resents her step-mother who changes the way things are done. But Frannie's days are soon occupied in a summer romance when she meet's Scott after he saves her from a smoking chimney. Scott seems to be everything Frannie wants in a man, but then she learns something that may change her dreams to nightmares!
We see a sort of change in Julianna in this book. She and Andrew are now married. Julianne adores Andrew, but she seems to be a bit stuck up in this book. She gets rid of the bibs and takes over many of the traditions. I think she should have been a bit more sensitive.
I enjoyed Belina's story. I think it deserved a book of it's own so we could see the romance between her and the worship leader...I think it would have made a good story. Instead, it was threw in here as an afterthought (except for one beach scene where Scott and Frannie are involved...)
Frannie was a bit wishy washy too. She promised Scott she wouldn't let the past affect their future, but when she finds out she jumped to all sorts of conclusions. I think scott forgave her a bit too quickly. I think Frannie should have felt a bit worse about the way she falsely accused Scott.
All in all, this was a sweet story.
