Having been through the summer camp experience as a camper, a counselor and a mom, I can honestly say that this book captured the camp experience in a unique and amusing way. Some of the letters are funny, but others are absolutely side-splitting! Recently, I have been involved in a facebook page of a camp I attended that closed 40 years ago. Everyone has become a fan of this book as we all see ourselves somewhere in it! If you've attended camp or have a child that did, you will too! Pick it up for a quick read that will have you laughing for a long time afterward!

Who doesn't have a kid in their life who has written a letter like one of these? I read them out loud before bed to a laughing audience. Once I finish, I'll send it to my mom to read to my niece who is at that "camp age." A lot of fun. Light, fun reading.

The book has some cute and funny letters. But since they decided to print the letters in the kids own handwriting instead of typing them. It made for some difficult reading at times

I loved this book! It's been some time since I've read something that I immediately wanted to share with everyone I know. I passed the book on to my husband as soon as I finished it, and stood reading over his shoulder so I could point out my favorite letters. My kids also devoured the book, and it continues to be a reference point for our family as we have started many conversations with "Remember the letter where the kid...." I highly recommend P.S. I Hate It Here!

This book is really a mixed bag of cute, funny and charming letters from kids at summer camp. I would describe it as very funny but not really hilarious. The letters from kids appear in the book as copies of the originals and are written in the child's own handwriting, which does add charm. Anyone who has sent a child to summer camp will find a lot to laugh about in this book.

My problem with it is that there are an annoying number of letters in the book that are so small on screen that it is literally impossible to read them without the aid of a magnifying glass and it's not possible to enlarge them. Obviously, either some of the content in this book just isn't ideal for the electronic and/or android format or it wasn't correctly formatted to begin with. Due to this issue, I feel like I didn't get what I paid for and would have been better off buying the print version of the book. Hopefully it works better on the Kindle but as far as my attempt to use it on my Android tablet, it's only worthy of two stars.

After seeing this author and review on The Today Show, I knew I had to have it. What a wonderful read! I wish I had this before sending my own daughter to camp in the 70's LOL It brought back a lot of memories and I am getting more copies to give as Christmas gifts this year. Love a book that makes you laugh out loud!!

could not read the words. The book may have been very funny, I was looking forward to it and was very dissappointed

I absolutely loved this book. My family still talks about the postcard my grandma got from my uncle stating clearly "Dear mom, I died on the trail." I wish it was still around!

I laughed at so many of these letters because I've seen so many similar experiences at camp over the years. Camp is such a great place for kids to gain independence and grow, but as this book shows, it's difficult to teach a 10 year old that helping with camp chores might actually be good for them.
