- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2012Bradford's line drawings of AFV's have been around for years and are a well researched reference for any AFV modeling enthusiast. In this volume we are presented with four and five view plans of vehicles of the "other" Allied and Axis countries. We are given examples of afv's from Italy, Japan, Hungary, Romania, France, Canada, South Africa, Australia, Poland, Begium and Czechoslovakia. Many are pre-war designs seen in the early war years, some are more obscure vehicles that are unlikely to be produced in model kit form. It is here where Mr. Bradford's efforts really pay off. If you've ever wanted to scratch build a 1/35 scale model of France's AMC Schneider Citroen-Kegresse half-tracked armored car then this is the book for you. There are eighty-seven different vehicle plans reproduced in 1/72, 1/48 or 1/35 scale, That's a lot for such a slim volume. The majority of the plans are in 1/35 scale, a scale conversion guide is printed on page six that provides the enlargement or reduction percentages for making copies in your prefered scale. I would recommend this and any George Bradford book of plans for serious AFV modelers and other historians.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2011Here in one place are line drawings of various Axis and Allied vehicles, sized right for larger scale model vehicles. These are vehciles from Japan, France and the smaller countries such as Romania and Hungary. The 1/35 drawings are clear, though textual information on each vehicle is brief, if at all. This is good for modelers who already have photo of the inteded vehicles. The book is good for what it is.
Note that all of these images are already included in the 1/72 books on the Axis and the Allies.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2014I have followed George Bradford’s work since 1964 and he has always come up with an excellent product. These plans originated in a series, by country in 1/35 and 1/48 scale, of popular armored fighting vehicles (AFVs) that he sold on his web site. They complement the standard reference texts in the field that provide the technical and operational details of AFVs. Since the Bellona series stopped production years ago these are the best available resource for military modelers other than articles specifically written on a particular vehicle. What I found particularly useful is that he covers subjects that are obscure or have been overlooked in the normal study of AFVs. This opinion applies to the entire series that has been published.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2013The tittle says it all. Schematics, and a lot of them. But they are amazingly done. There are a lot of details and vehicles for all countries, but it doesn't show non armored vehicles like motorcycles, jeeps and trucks (well, it reads on the cover ARMORED, so it is ok). The way the author describes and shows the veihcles is excellent for gamers, hobbist and savants of WWII
- Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2008This book if filled with good useful scale line drawings of various armored vehicles... Just the thing for a "scratch-builder" looking for new interesting projects... A MUST have for the scale armor modeler...
- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2014These scale drawing books can be exactly what scale modelers or graphic artists are looking for.
They are accurate down to the nuts and bolts if you need them to be.
Great work.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2012Nicely laid out and very detailed. Will be helpful for scale modelling, esp for the odder varieties of and captured
AFVs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another one in an excellent series
One of a series - This one has the non Brit/US/German WWII AFV users vehicles portrayed. The plans are, as always, crisp and interesting with occasional photographs to spice up the mix. While a little more depth in the captions would be nice its very hard to criticise. If you're a newcomer to AFVs remember that while some of these vehicles were mass produced some were prototypes or produced in limited numbers.

3.0 out of 5 stars 97

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for the miltary modeller
Another George Bradford classic. One of a series of books by this author that are invaluable to military afv enthusiasts.
