Bestselling Author Bernadette Marie writes contemporary romances and believes in Happily Ever After. The married mother of five believes in love at first sight, quick love, and second chances. An avid martial artist, Bernadette Marie is a certified instructor and holds a second degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. She loves Tai Chi, traveling to Disney parks, and having lunch with friends. When not writing, or running her own publishing house, Bernadette is probably immersed in a Rom Com, from which she will often quote one liners.

I really enjoyed this story. I read it in one evening. Since my joy is a happily e er after every time, I was pleased with the outcome, even if the main character was a bit over the top on the forever love can't be mine thing. Read it...I think you'll enjoy it!

Love this writer. Everything I have read of her's is all well written and always leaves you wanting more. I love the people in her books I feel like they could be famliy of friends. Every time I read one of her books I finish them in no time because I can't put them down. I have to keep reading I have to know what happens.

The story is a tad schmaltzy, not because of the sugar coated content, but the overly romantic writing style, the too perfect scenes between the two main characters. The one thing I did miss was a really climactic and rigourous sexual encounter when they finally did get it on. Theirs was a fairly anti climactic connection, covered in barely a page or two. After all that build up, I wanted fireworks, writhing, sweat, fluid, rolling, writhing; all I got was a rather feeble description of a female orgasm accompanied by grunting male companion.
For someone who obviously knows her sweet treats, it came as a surprise to see her refer to petite fours, when any pastry chef worth their salt knows they are petit fours; masculine. (small ovens, or cooling ovens) Also the use of the words single handily should have read single-handedly.
This owes a lot to the book/film 'Chocolat' but lacks the frisson of danger in the roguish male character. He is just too perfect to engender any excitement or tension. However, It is a nice enough story if your interest is in saccharine sweet romance. My tastes are somewhat more raunchy and realistic, I'm afraid.

Nora Roberts there is a new romance Queen. Such a fun story full of life lessons and hope. Never give up on love. Too bad there weren't recipes for chocolates like there were for life.

Lovely little love story, very light read, real cute little love story, a little predictable, I liked it regasrdless of that.

I loved the beginning of this book and continued to enjoy it until I was three-fourths of the way through it when I just got tired of Tabitha. She was so sad, mad, dreary, and doubting that I grew to dislike her. Tabitha didn't care for Valentine's day, and she had good reasons for how she felt. I get that. Maybe her attitude was believable, it was just so long and drawn out for me. But Preston was a dream. I thought the writing was excellent with good use of dialogue and description, there were few typing errors, the characters were well developed and I liked everyone else in the story.

This story was a lot of fun. You have Tabitha that is making chocolate for all those special moments inspired by love that she doesn’t even believe in. Enter Preston who would like to change her mind. There were moments where you really worried that things could work that gave a nice level of tension. #CMCon24
