Editorial Reviews

Review

“With its irrepressible heroine, deliciously dark and dangerous hero, and suitably atmospheric setting, Clare's latest impeccably written novel cleverly references the classic gothic romances of Victoria Holt and Madeleine Brent, while at the same time incorporating plenty of the steamy passion and lush sensuality found in today's brand of sexy historical romances.” ―Booklist on The Secret Desires of a Governess

“With its brooding hero and dark backdrop Clare brings an updated gothic twist to her latest novel. By incorporating the themes and red herrings of a classic Victoria Holt or Daphne du Maurier, she entices readers to keep turning the pages to uncover the mystery and savor the highly sensual romance.” ―RT Book Reviews on The Secret Desires of a Governess

“This is an entertaining throwback to the Virginia Holt legendary Gothic tales as Tiffany Clare employs all the elements from the innocent female, to the foreboding castle to the brooding hero inside a romantic suspense thriller. Abby and Elliot are terrific lead characters while the support cast especially his son, the villagers, and her family make for a wonderful Victorian Gothic romance.” ―Midwest Book Review on The Secret Desires of a Governess

The Secret Desires of a Governess is excellent reading material for those who like their romance novel with explosive love scenes and a good solid plot.” ―Fresh Fiction on The Secret Desires of a Governess

“Hauntingly sensual, The Secret Desires of a Governess is a compelling read that will have readers hoping for more.” ―Single Titles on The Secret Desires of a Governess

“In her second captivating historical romance, Clare turns up the sensual heat with a sizzling, sexy tale of a husband and wife engaged in a seductive battle of wits that proves to be splendidly entertaining.” ―Booklist on The Seduction of His Wife

“Steamy.” ―Publishers Weekly on The Seduction of His Wife

“The second chapter of Clare's trilogy is as bold and alluring as this exciting newcomer's first book. Clare takes a ‘second chance at love' romance, twisting the theme into a highly sensual tale of passion and suspense. But there's also humor, created by secondary characters, and love to round out a tantalizing read.” ―RT Book Reviews (Top Pick) on The Seduction of His Wife

“[The Seduction of His Wife] will draw you in....You'll find yourself riveted.” ―Night Owl Reviews (Top Pick) on The Seduction of His Wife

“Tiffany Clare has penned another superb and masterfully crafted romance. The Seduction of His Wife has all that I love in a book: humor, suspense, sigh-inducing romance, and fan-your-face, sizzling sex scenes. Ms. Clare's first book, The Surrender of A Lady, was a bold and daring story, and her latest book is equally as entertaining. If you've never read a Tiffany Clare book, run to your nearest bookstore. You don't know what you're missing!” ―The Romance Dish on The Seduction of His Wife

“A unique, unforgettable, sensual love story sweeping from the harems of the east to staid Victorian ballrooms. Watch out for this sizzling new talent to rise to the top.” ―RT Book Reviews on The Surrender of a Lady

“Exotic, bold and captivating. Tiffany Clare's rich, sensual prose is delightful indulgence!” ―Alexandra Hawkins, author of All Night with a Rogue, on The Surrender of a Lady

“Dazzling, daring and different! Exotic and erotic! The Surrender of a Lady will have you turning the pages until you finish, no matter how late it gets. Tiffany Clare is a brilliant new talent in historical romance.” ―Anna Campbell, author of Midnight's Wild Passion, on The Surrender of a Lady

“Tiffany Clare has written an exceptionally exciting and heart-wrenching story of devotion and survival of a young mother, sold into the most despicable of circumstances . . . Fast-paced, full of suspense, and totally exciting with each turn of the page. A new and refreshing plot has been woven for the reader.” ―Fresh Fiction on The Surrender of a Lady

“Emotion-packed…a heartrending, very sensual historical romance that will touch your heart.” ―Romance Junkies on The Surrender of a Lady

Deciding that life had far more to offer than a nine to five job, bickering children and housework of any kind (unless she's on a deadline when everything is magically spotless), Tiffany Clare opened up her laptop to write stories she could get lost in. Tiffany writes historical romances set in the Victorian era.

WICKED NIGHTS WITH A PROPER LADY by Tiffany Clare is a sizzling Regency historical romance. Book 1 in the new "Dangerous Rogues" series. Oh what dangerous Rogues these are too. A wickedly, delightful story from beginning to end.
Genevieve Camden, and Leo Harrow, Earl of Barrington find passion and love through scandal. With witty banter, sizzling passion, this old flame can still set the sparks flying. A tale of love, passion and some wicked nights. Another hit for this author. I have so enjoyed her stories. Another must read for historical romance readers. Received for an honest review from the publisher.

It was all right. But there was too much waffling in it for me. The hero didn't even think of marrying the heroine he basically secretly ruined years earlier, until the end of the book. Of course the heroine was a willing participant, but this is suppose to not be contemporary.
So the romance just wasn't ringing true to me. It was more lust. Especially when they met again.

This just dragged on. That is all that happened in this book. Two people having an affair, twice.

Just a bit shallow for my taste.

Actually, the problem with this book is that they missed the chance to make it a truly great novel. It has a decent plot and a rich environment of characters, and yet they are not developed to the point where you care, or there is just enough information to make you curious and then disappointed. Half of this book is the same thing repeated over and over again in a different location. Ok, we get it she was hurt, he was oblivious...yada, yada, yada. When things finally begin to happen, I loved the story and felt yanked to the end. It was as though someone dragged a narrative along only to remember that their literary station stop was coming up and it had to be done when he got there. I've not read any other books by this author and it was on sale for kindle @ $.99 so I don't feel cheated. I'm mostly sadden at what could have been.

In 1846 three rakes (an earl, a marquess and a duke) attend the funeral of the abusive Earl of Fallon. Thus Leoniadas, Tristan and Hayden show up not out of friendship to the deceased, but as a show of support to the SOB's financially broke widow Lady Jezebel. Jez asks the rogues for a favor as she wants them to prevent a marriage between the abusive next Fallon and the naive Lady Charlotte Lindsay as she does not wish the innocent to end up like she did. Willing to do anything for their friend, each knows the best plan to thwart unholy matrimony is to compromise the daughter of Lord Ponsley.

Four years ago Leo Harrow deserted his beloved Genevieve Camden. Since he dumped her, she swore off marriage and love while accepting the role of poor relation. Her uncle demands Genny act with propriety especially while chaperoning her cousin Charlotte or face the street. Leo and Genny see each other across a ballroom; plans are shattered as the pair only has eyes for each other but she distrusts her beloved who broke her heart.

The first Dangerous Rogues Victorian romance is an entertaining second chance at love historical with a strong lead couple and a solid support cast who add depth to this storyline and appears to set up the future entries. Fast-paced, fans will enjoy Wicked Nights With A Proper Lady while wondering who will pair up in the future tales while hopefully also clarifying the mystery of the enigmatic Dowager Jez.

It was not a bad book. But one I read over because it did not have enough of a story.
