I bought the Kindle version to read on my tablet. If I could get a refund for $5 of the $6 I paid, I would...because this book is worth about $0.99. It's almost unintelligible in places with typos, missing words, and generally bad writing. Mistakes on every page leave you wondering if anyone read this before it went to print. Evidently this is some vanity press with no editors, so buyer beware.

Digital version is riddled with errors, frequently almost unreadable. Have not completed book, so far content is engaging, but errors are very distracting.

2.0 out of 5 stars Interesting read but not as I expected

This book contained a great deal of Scottish social history and given this fact was a tad light on actual research tips and techniques in comparison. It is well written but for me was a repeat of the research advice in my other books. If you want to understand the social history then its still a good buy.
