A business merger might not be the most romantic reason to propose to a woman he barely knows, but Kyle's determined to win the respect of the dying father who's never seen him as quite good enough. Kyle's always depended on Caitlin's friendship, while trying to ignore the physical response she arouses. So he turns to her when it comes time to craft his proposal, not realizing his decision will affect their relationship, forever.
This Christmas, Kyle and Caitlin get one last chance to admit their feelings for each other, and find a mutual happily ever after, before he commits his life to another woman and Caitlin leaves town and him for good.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2017Short sweet romance of two best friends finally realizing their feelings. Of course he's going to propose to another woman though and marry for a business merger. This is a Christmas story set in Chicago with snow and everything the city has to offer this time of year, it will help you get in the mood too. I suppose this could be a spoiler, but I kept wondering why this merger was so important, why the woman seemed pretty set it had to happen too, but her father's words pretty much explained that question. Fast fun read.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2012Ask Her at Christmas is a fun, light read that will keep you turning pages as you root for the hero and heroine. Once again, Ms. Barth has created realistic, deep characters that will keep you wondering HOW they will ever work things out and be together. This story will get you in the Christmas spirit and leave you with a smile on your face. Highly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2013I loved this book. It was a very good book, well written and nicely developed. You could relate to the characters. They were easy to like and you could not help but hope they need up together.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2012First off, I have to say that I LOVE Christi's book dedication and the individual book cover is beautiful.
Caitlin McIntyre and Kyle Lockhart have been best friends forever. Caitlin is a recent graduate student, waiting to find out which one of two jobs will take her into the next chapter of her life. Kyle is the head of the security division for his family's company, LTS Industries, an airplane and security conglomerate. They each have an attraction for the other, but neither wants to jeopardize their friendship to say so. This isn't to say neither hasn't dated other people, because they each have. A few weeks before Christmas, Kyle surprises Caitlin at a mall, where she's a volunteer gift wrapper and drops to one knee and proposes. Caitlin thinks all of her dreams have come true, until she realizes that Kyle is just practicing his proposal technique on her and wants to enlist her to help him come up with the perfect proposal for Monica.
Besides the fact that the proposal isn't meant for her, Caitlin has serious issues with the fact that her best friend is going to propose to Monica. The number one issue is that Kyle doesn't love Monica Selford, a PR executive for her family's hotel chain. He's only going to marry her because his father told him to, telling him it would be good for business. Kyle's father, Brian Lockhart has a jaded idea of marriage since his wife left him. He could actually care less if his son is happy or not. For Mr. Lockhart, it's all about business and appearances.
Caitlin and Kyle have a great relationship. She would do anything to make him happy, even if that something is playing nice with his soon-to-be fiance, which she doesn't think too highly of. But sometimes a girl has to listen to her gut instincts when she has a bad feeling about someone or something. One magical kiss reveals their true feelings for each other and changes their lives. I LOVE happy-ever-afters and Christi has truly written a very good HEA, which probably happens to fall in line with her Aisle Bound Trilogy. (Mmm. I wonder if we'll see anyone from this book in one of the other books.)
Rating: 4 ½ (I really liked it.)

Caitlin and Kyle have been best friends forever, in a lot of ways they are complete opposites but their personalities compliment each other and neither of them knows what they would do without the other in their lives. Caitlin has been in love with Kyle for as long as she can remember but she is too afraid of losing her best friend to ever tell him how she feels. Her heart starts to break when he asks for her help proposing to another woman though, she knows that Kyle doesn't love Monica and that Monica doesn't deserve him but how can she refuse to help him when he has his heart set on granting his father's dying wish?
I always love a friends to lovers romance and Ask her at Christmas is a great example of that. Caitlin and Kyle have been friends for so long that they know each other inside out but in a way that made it a little unbelievable that neither of them had ever admitted how they felt. I struggled to accept the way Kyle was so willing to go along with his father's plans to marry him off to Monica just to help their companies broker a business merger. It might have been a little easier to believe if Monica had at least been a nice person, or even slightly nice, but she was such a bitch and not once did I think that Kyle would get anything out of the marriage. Considering it was just going to be a business deal I didn't see why he wanted Caitlin's help to plan the perfect romantic proposal. In spite of the problems I had believing that part of the story line I did like both Kyle and Caitlin. Kyle was a sexy geek (and we all know how much I love those!) who was good with numbers and an expert computer programmer. Caitlin on the other hand was creative and artistic and she had a romantic soul, even though it broke her heart watching Kyle prepare to marry someone else she wanted the best for him and felt that he deserved to have the memories of a wonderful proposal. I did wish that Kyle would have stood up for what he wanted a bit sooner and I was incredibly annoyed with him at one point when he let Caitlin down in a way she would never have done to him but in the end he did man up and prove himself worthy of her. Overall this was a sweet story and one I would recommend.
