About the author

Since 1921, the Betty Crocker name has symbolized the General Mills continuing tradition of service to consumers. Although Betty was never a real person, her name and identity have become synonymous with helpfulness, trustworthiness and quality.
Betty Crocker has survived the decades by providing consumers with food information and food products that are contemporary without being faddish. The first hardcover cookbook, Betty Crocker’s Picture Cookbook was published in 1950 and quickly became a national best seller. Since then, more than 250 Betty Crocker cookbooks have been published.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2013Love all of the Betty Crocker cookbooks, great illustrations and easy to follow directions with ingredients that I can find or already have in my kitchen. New or reinvented recipes. I have bought many of these kinds of cookbooks.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2016Good go to for fast ideas.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2014This is a group instructions for preparing prepackaged meals. For example The chicken Alfredo recipe instructions say to use a jar of Alfredo sauce over chicken. Really? I can figure that much out on my own. Not worth the 99 cents.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sin acceso a algunos ingredientes
Es casi imposible conseguir en México varios de los ingredientes pedidos en las recetas. Las que he logrado hacer han quedado muy bien!

5.0 out of 5 stars Betty Crocker Slow Cooker recipes
I grew up around Betty Crocker cook books. I got my first book when I was 14 years old. I loved it and spent my weekends cooking for the family. When I moved from the US to the UK I lost all my cook books and was gutted. One day I thought I would go through Amazon's books to see if I could find any Betty Crocker books. I can not explain the excitement when I found some. My children bought me a Tablet for Christmas last year and to find out I can download the cook books was really exciting. I recently bought the Betty Crocker slow cooker and downloaded it. It's great to be able to take the tablet to the kitchen in the morning and get dinner on in my slow cooker and get on with chores or go down to the allotment and work on the vegetable garden and come home to a hot meal. The food that comes out of the slow cooker is so good there is rarely left overs but on the chance I can scrape out a bowl for the next day that I can sit and have or take to the allotment and eat between weeding and pinching suckers is wonderful. The recipes remind me of my Granny when I was a kid. If you are looking for a cook book for your slow cooker this is a great choice.

4.0 out of 5 stars on/off switch
I really miss having an on/off switch . Cooker is on for so long and with no obvious light , it's easy to forget it - think it's a very important omission .

3.0 out of 5 stars Hmmm
For me too much use of canned soups and broths,I bought a slow cooker to make this kind of food myself not have to buy it. Ok for people who want more convenience foods.

2.0 out of 5 stars Easy slow cooker recipes.
Not enough recipes to be classed as a cookbook. This is more like a small collection of free cards that you can get in the local supermarket.
