Linc is a kind of super cyber guy. He's military trained & known for his computer skills, rather than any macho field missions. That doesn't mean he's not qualified to jump right in when he believes his friend Kenzie is in trouble. He's wanted out of the friend zone for months and now is his chance and he's determined to keep her safe, and convince her they are meant for each other. Kenzie trains military dogs. She's good at it but has had her share of loss because of war. She's learned to seperate herself from emotional attachments, but Linc is both persistent and patient. And Kenzie has a stalker who is determined she will be the next victim in his sick game. In the meantime her best friend, Christine, has been caught in the crossfire. Now Linc & Kenzie must work together to protect each other, family and friends. Can they become a team to overcome this evil in time? Clearly this type of op is not Linc's strong suit, but his determination to protect Kenzie is sexy and attractive in it's own right. Kenzie's slow realization that Linc is a man she can trust & love is truly heartening and realistic. The steady building of plot details and building the suspense as the noose tightens is very well done. The only distracting writing device in this story is the abrupt transitions when the point of view changes and there is no indication of the change. For example, ne minute it's Linc's POV, the next it's the stalker. Sometimes I read several paragraphs before I realized I was reading a different character's perspective. But, overall, this book is clear, concise and entertaining. Well worth reading for it's strong, intelligent, but not over the top macho leading man and it's strong, stubborn and innovative female lead.

The characters were believable, and the plot was so well done and suspenseful that I had to put the book down for a little while until I relaxed enough to continue reading. Even knowing there would be a happy ending, the story was so well written it still grabbed me.

Expected a better read, wanted to like this book. Could have been edited way down. Kenzie spent most of the book pushing away Linc, refusing to share info, refusing help. Hardly any interaction with dogs. Linc was way too patient. Ended with no closure on friend Christine’s situation. Disappointing.
