We travel with this intrepid man from Kathmandu to Lhasa where he lived with impoverished Tibetans whose generosity and friendliness made the discomfort of primitive living at such altitudes disappear.These and other extraordinary experiences made this a fascinating read.

About the Author

Major General Sir Roy Redgrave KBE MC saw active service in the Second World War with The Blues. His career culminated in two top appointments as commanding general in Berlin and Hong Kong.

Following retirment he travelled widely and his memoirs Balkan Blue have been reprinted. He lived in Chelsea, London.

Major-General Sir Roy Redgrave died on 3rd June 2011, aged 85.
