The Most Expensive Night of Her Life (Harlequin Kiss Book 41) Kindle Edition

3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars 82 ratings

Her million-pound question!

Supermodel Ava Kelly is more used to luxury yachts than London canal boats. But she desperately needs a refuge from the paparazzi and delectable Blake Walker's boat will provide the perfect bolt-hole. This brooding ex-soldier is bound to rescue her, right…?

Wrong. Pampered princess Ava is the last person Blake wants in his personal space—she's far too tempting! But with a million-pound charity donation hanging in the balance Blake can't say no. Now that Ava's close enough to touch, keeping his hands off her is pretty difficult, too! Maybe money isn't the only thing at stake this Christmas….

Editorial Reviews

Review

"This emotional tribute to war veterans is quickly paced with the right balance of tender moments and passionate sparks between the heroine with trust issues and the hero wracked with guilt." RT Book Reviews, rated 4 1/2 stars

"Another surprisingly emotionally complex story inset in the strict tight parameters of a series romance. At first glance of this book, the story is about a haughty, self absorbed supermodel and a gruff man who lost a limb as a soldier came home to become a carpenter. But there is oh so much more to this story." Daniela

From the Author

This is the story of my amputee military hero and the haughty supermodel. I wanted to put the ideal of society's "perfect woman" together with what society often deems as "imperfection" - a body marred and scarred - and see what happened.

Sparks! Sparks happened :-)

I adored my ex military guy, Blake. A returned vet, a decorated war hero with his life finally back together after a long hard recovery. And then I wanted to throw him a curve ball in the form of one helluva gorgeous, pain in the ass woman. Because Blake is healed on the outside but is still shut off to love. And Blake deserves to be loved.

I hope you enjoy this sexy journey to love for both Blake and Ava. It has it poignant moments but there's humour and a whole lot of sizzle to boot!

This book touched my heart. It was about a model, and a war hero. It touched on subjects of what phantom pains can be like when you are missing a leg, survivors guilt, and the road that some soldiers face when they get out of the military. The romance between Ava, and Blake was sweet, with real emotions. I am so glad I finally read this book. It is a winner, and will go on my favorite's list.

End seemed a bit rushed but sweet, entertaining story. Interesting mix of characters and glimpse into wounded warrior and high fashion. Loved the boat.

A war hero and a super model. What can happen? Add the tabloids and that love that they don't know has happened.

I have read a lot of books lately especially with war hero's. However this book really touched my heart and I wasn't able to put it down. I loved the characters and their strength to go after what they wanted.

My only wish would be that she found away to get back at her mother.
