The beautifully illustrated pages bring these fascinating women to life and leave you desperate to read more about each and every one of them. The book is a great way to not only introduce children to some amazing historical figures, but to also teach them valuable lessons about just how harmful name calling and mistreatment of others can be.

This book would make a great gift for anyone, including teachers, children, and history buffs. My copy has taken up residence on my coffee table - all it needs is a sequel!

All my girls ages, 13, 10, 8 enjoy listening to this as a read aloud. Nice pictures and good ways to start discussions. Wish is provided just a bit more detailed info. on each "witch" and someone a bit more current.

This is much shorter and less information than I expected, I was really hoping for more content. It is an interesting take though.

I ordered 2 copies: one for me to enjoy and one for a colleague who teaches Social Studies. I loved learning about these strong women who were labeled as witches simply for being themselves. Aside from being a terrific read, this book is filled with the type of facts that are "golden" when included on state or national history exams. Being able to provide a detailed fact about Anne Boleyn, Catherine de Medici, or any of the other accused witches in context could be a grade-changer!

I love it but kids can get better for the price when it comes to learning this kind of history. Only problem is was the the price. I’d look for used and good condition for the value. But great book overall and a great start for the cool kids into such history.

My daughter and I read this. It was a really easy way to explain where the idea of witches came from. She's already interested in the middle ages and this was a nice way to tie this bit of women's history together with other events. I love the maps and illustrations. It's a great book: I'd recommend it.

By the description, I thought it would be short stories. Instead it read more like index pages. I liked the illustrations.

found this to be more for a non intense reader personally, but was quite interesting. Shame more thought was put into the pictures instead of the text.
