Magnolia Drive: A Cavanaugh Island Novel Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 312 ratings

The national bestselling author of Sanctuary Cove returns to the islands off South Carolina with this heartfelt second chance romance.

After a taste of Broadway stardom and a failed marriage, Francine Tanner has come home to Cavanaugh Island to rebuild her life. She's done with acting—and with fakery of every kind. But the mysterious newcomer who's bought land outside her hometown is as down-to-earth as he is handsome . . . and he may be her second chance for the real thing.

Keaton Grace has had a crush on Francine for years. Now she's living in the same small town where he's developing his new film studio. He's determined to convince his favorite star to return to the spotlight. Yet the more they get reacquainted, the more he realizes the smart, funny, sexy woman she is in real life is far better than any role he envisioned.

“The kind of place you visit and never want to leave.” —Hope Ramsay, bestselling author of Last Chance Beauty Queen, on Sanctuary Cove

I love this series. I had read all of the previous books in the series, but I kept passing this one by. Loved It. Francine/Red to her friends had been used by her ex-husband Widen. She was done, she left New York moved back home to the Low Country helping her mother run the Beauty Box. One day a man came in for a haircut and a shave someone that knew her,but she didn't know him. Keaton Grace moved to the Low Country for a slower pace and run into the woman he could not forget. Awesome love story. Hopefully there will be a story about David and Devon I will be waiting for my next visit to the Low Country.

I've have read all of Mrs. Alers books from "The Cove, The Creek, The Landing, now I reading her book "After Hours" I must say I think her daughter should asked her for a plane ticket to Europe, because this book is definitely going to be another bestseller. what I love about the Author books she's always give great recipes, movies title's liked "Daughter's of Dust" music, hotels, I'm a hopeless romantic, I was beyond happy for Fancine, she's finally got her Prince, good things do happen, if you just be patience and wait. Great job, and I thought it was so sweet to dedicated the book to your granddaughter. This is why yours fans love you.

Rochelle Alers certainly did not disappoint as she continued her stories of the Gullah culture, Cavanaugh Island inhabitants, and the fate of the strong characters of the Island. Magnolia Drive tells the story of the next love connection in Ms Alers's citizens of the Low Country. The story of Keaton & Francine is right up there with the previous love matches of Deborah & Asa (Sanctuary Cove), Kara & Jeff (Angel's Landing),and Morgan & Nate (Haven Creek). I love the way Rochelle Alers weaves the secondary characters into her stories in such a way they become very important to the storyline and plot. In each book she has introduced characters that at the end of the story, we know that there has to be another book coming down the pike to explore the possibility of another love match. You find yourself cheering for the protagonists to come together because you want to see them together. Such was the case with Keaton Grace & Francine Tanner, just a great story. But that's not all. Along with the possibility of love & happiness ever after for the two protagonists, there's the hint of anther possible match between David & Devon. Oh Yeah! That means that the saga continues for the characters of the Low Country. Yes, Ms. Alers has done it again! Another winner depicting the Cavanaugh Island characters.

I have enjoyed learning the history and culture of the Gullah. It is a rich background and experience as the Creole culture. Reading" Haven Creek", "Angels Landing " and " Sanctuary Cove" has given me a rich history lesson as we as reading an extraordinary author tell her stories. The romance stories interwoven with history is superb! The lessons about growing and learning to love is enlightening. On to the fifth of this series.
