Since she was a little girl, Linda Ladd has always been a romantic, loving nothing better than to lose herself completely in the faraway times and places of great novelists such as Jane Austen, Margaret Mitchell, and the Brontë sisters. This book has all the things I love in a story. A beautiful and spirited heroine, who does NOT lose her back-bone, the minute she falls in love. A strong but oh so smitten hero, who falls in love first, and has no commitment issues. Wow, these type of stories are so rare in the romantic genre (be it historical, paranormal, suspense, contemporary, etc.) that I savor every second of this wonderful read.
