Drifter's Run (Pik Lando) Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 46 ratings

A smuggler goes on the lam in space in this fast-paced adventure by the New York Times–bestselling author of Halo: The Flood.

Even smuggling has rules. The second is: Don’t let your guard down.

Meet Pik Lando, a con artist and a ladies man, a total professional who’ll chase across the galaxies for his clients—and he’ll usually find plenty of action and danger too. In
Drifter’s Run, he takes a job piloting a space tug, figuring he could lay low from a cyborg hell bent on finding you. Suddenly Lando is too popular—the government wants his head and a beautiful bounty hunter wants his body. So much for life as fugitive.

Don’t miss Lando’s other adventures,
Drifter and Drifter’s War.

Dietz is my go-to writer for peculiar twists in military sci-fi. If you’re looking for an entertaining story in 3 books, you’ll be enjoying these characters and an exotic and twisted plot that in many ways bring backs the Wild West galactic grit of Serenity.

5-star fun!

Pic is at it again, busy being chased by bounty hunters, cyborgs and making new friends and finding salvage gold. This time, just maybe, he may find love and adopt a family.

For some reason I really enjoy this series, it has a great lead character and some wonderful sci-fi ideas. I would recommend this book to sci-fi fans that want a hero that reminds them of.... Han Solo, in a good way.

This book is a quick and light read. While no literary masterpiece, Dietz has a good setting filled with nice details. The book reminds me of certain elements of the original SciFi roleplaying game, Traveller.
