- Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2019Great story about a remarkable soldier that led his way. His views on leadership at the end of the book should be reviewed by all those in a leadership position. One could say he had a bit of luck yet he put himself in position to lead and thus influence the conflicts that he and his troops found themselves in each time. Resolute capable soldier who men would follow

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality read.
I knew the Brig to look at when I was a boy, little did I know of this humble man and his heroics during the war, a commendable read to anyone interested in second world war history.

4.0 out of 5 stars A real character.
I had the pleasure of meeting this extraordinary gentleman and realised why he was so well respected by all who served under him in world war two.
