Scoring Wilder Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 5,043 ratings

USA TODAY BESTSELLER
#1 Sports Romance

What started out as a joke— seduce Coach Wilder—soon became a goal she had to score.

With Olympic tryouts on the horizon, the last thing nineteen-year-old Kinsley Bryant needs to add to her plate is Liam Wilder. He's a professional soccer player, America's favorite bad-boy, and has all the qualities of a skilled panty-dropper.

• A face that makes girls weep – check.
• Abs that can shred Parmesan cheese (the expensive kind) – check.
• Enough confidence to shift the earth’s gravitational pull – double check.

Not to mention Liam is strictly off limits . Forbidden. Her coaches have made that perfectly clear. (i.e. “Score with Coach Wilder anywhere other than the field and you’ll be cut from the team faster than you can count his tattoos.”) But that just makes him all the more enticing…Besides, Kinsley's already counted the visible ones, and she is not one to leave a project unfinished.

Kinsley tries to play the game her way as they navigate through forbidden territory, but Liam is determined to teach her a whole new definition for the term “team bonding.”

SCORING WILDER is a full-length romantic comedy. I've also included a short excerpt from my #1 bestseller THE SUMMER GAMES: SETTLING THE SCORE!

Good-Different Sports Romance!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5️⃣0️⃣ You sorta-kinda get 2 romances in one with Scoring Wilder. Not only do you get to follow along with Kinsley & Liam, but also Becca & Penn. I actually appreciated the additional bonus secondary romance. It kept the story moving. Honestly, it probably kept the main story between Liam & Kinsley from becoming drawn out and dull. I don't think I would've liked this book as much as I did without that element, to be honest. The understanding and communication between Liam & Kinsley was on point! There were a few instances of them keeping it very level-headed when they could've easily assumed the worst about each other. They rationally thought it out, reducing the potential for a breakup and/ or misunderstanding trope to pop in. And while you might look at that as a missed opportunity for some proper (and typical) conflict from an angst building perspective, I found it refreshing, surprising, and fun. This book didn't need to rely on the usual wedges tossed between the fmc and the mmc. Instead, it approached the hiccups that came their way it in a mature fashion. It worked here! I found this book to be a standard soft sort of romance, but also completely different from the rest. I had such an enjoyable experience reading this that I had to order a physical copy. It was good-different and absolutely something I could see myself rereading in the future. I ended this read feeling satisfied, relaxed, and refreshed.

This is going to be a gushing review because I loved everything about this book. The characters were compelling yet fun, the plot is different and interesting, there’s action and not a lot of angsty drama, I could go on and on. Kinsley Bryant and Liam Wilder are a new favorite couple. She’s hilarious and real and very relatable. He’s sweet and sexy and wonderfully down-to-earth despite his fame. There was an element of forbidden love but that’s not their story, which was a nice surprise because I was expecting that to be a big part of the plot.

Kinsley is an Olympic-hopeful soccer star about to start college. She chose this school for their soccer program and excellent coach so she’s keen to make a good impression but the first thing she wants to do is break the rules. Liam Wilder is a professional soccer player and he’s volunteering as a coach for the ULA women’s team this summer. The first directive from the head coach is no fraternization with coach Wilder but Kinsley’s immediately smitten. That wouldn’t be a big deal except that Liam is every bit as interested in her and doesn’t do a very good job of hiding it.

What begins as a lusty fling soon morphs into feelings and that’s a lot for anyone to handle but their unique situation makes things even trickier. Besides breaking the cardinal rule of her brand-new soccer program, Kinsley is already dealing with upperclassman hazing, largely motivated by her talent. She’s only nineteen and not used to the limelight so the growing media attention around her college career is unwanted and uncomfortable. The insecure bully of a team captain already had it out for Kinsley, but Liam’s interest in her kicks Tara’s jealous rage into overdrive. The media frenzy surrounding Liam and Kinsley’s skeevy loser of an ex being Liam’s teammate also complicate her life, but she handles it like a champ. Her internal monologue is hilarious and her interactions with friends are even better, especially her BFF Becca, who is the BFF we all need.

The steaminess level is high because they have fantastic chemistry but it’s not all hormones, they’re great together. I’m not sure if this story has more dialogue than usual or if it just seems that way because I adored it but regardless, it’s fantastic. I loved the banter Kinsley had with her friends but especially between her and Liam. They’re LOL funny together but really sweet at the same time because they know when to stop kidding and talk real.

I just really loved everything about this book. The characters were well-written and entertaining, the plot was interesting without overshadowing the romance and the romance itself was ideal. The story is told completely from Kinsley’s POV and I would have liked some of Liam’s POV in there but I enjoyed this story so much and can’t criticize a single thing about it. This is a new favorite and I’ll definitely read it again.

Favorite quotes: “Cue dream sequence of Liam running slowly on a beach carrying me in his arms. I love how he's strong enough to carry me with one arm while using the other arm to feed the seagulls. He's such an animal lover like that.”

“Kinsley, I've never liked any girl more than I like M&Ms."
"Am I getting close?" I joked.
"I'd say I like you more than regular M&Ms, but you're going to have to really step it up if you want to beat out peanut M&Ms.”

I love a good sports romance book. It's one of my favorite sub-genre's to read. So when someone (I'm blanking on who!) from Twitter told me about this book, I knew I had to read it. It just sounded like a me book from the start and let me tell ya'll I'm freaking obsessed with this book. Here's why.

Kinsley doesn't have the best track record with the guys she dates. The only two boyfriends she's had ended up cheating on her. So Kinsley doesn't regard men to highly as of late, especially when it comes to soccer's most notorious bad boy, Liam Wilder. He's hot, he's a distraction, and he is so not what she needs in her life right now. Her sole focus is on getting an invitation to the Olympic tryouts.

Until she drunkly flirts with Wilder at a party on her birthday.

It was all flirty, funny, fun when she finds out he's going to be one of her coaches. And every player on her soccer team has been made aware that any one who hooks up with Wilder will be kicked off the team. With her focus on her future, Kinsley thinks that Wilder can fit into the coach box she put him in, but the more she is around him, the more their connection grows.

Liam and Kinsley are drawn together. What might have started out as lust and sexual attraction, develops into something much deeper as their story continues. But could their attraction be enough to survive the scrutiny of Liam's career, the mean Queen-B on Kinsley's soccer team, and are they willing to risk their futures?

I couldn't put this book down! From the moment that I picked the book, I couldn't put it down. There was something about R.S Grey's writing that captivated me. I love when stories are told from a really funny, sarcastic, sassy voice and that's exactly what Kinsley is. She had me cracking up from the first chapter and only kept me laughing throughout the entire book. I would say for fans of Helena's Hunting book Pucked would really enjoy this one too! Kinsley and Violet would soo be friends.

Wilder was just so hot. He had me fanning myself. He had me swooning. He had me wishing he was real so he could be mine. I loved how protective he was of Kinsley but learned that she could fight her own battles. I loved how he was supportive, talented, and totally not how the media portrays him. At least, not any more. Wilder would totally be a guy I would date. The man just had me like *heart eye emoji* over all the pages.

Probably one of my favorites things I loved about this book was that it had a lot of soccer in it! As I stated above I love sport reads, but usually there isn't as much sport content as I would like, but that's just because I'm someone who can't wait for football season and throws confetti when its baseball season, I just love sports, they've always been apart of my life, so I loved how both, Wilder and Kinsley, were athletes. Readers get to see the sport from two different career points. One is professional soccer player and one is a freshman college soccer player. Ones already won a medal at the Olympics, one has only dreamed about doing the same. It was very insightful and I loved how the pair helped with the other's abilities.

One of my favorites of the year probably. Scoring Wilder was the perfect blend of romance, sports, and friendships. Pretty much everything I want in a book. This book I will read over and over again cause I'm obsessed!! As soon as I finished it, I looked at the authors other titles and ordered one of them! I can't wait to see what R.S. Grey has up her sleeve.

I recommend this book to EVERYONE! Seriously, no matter if you love sport romance or not. This is one book everyone should read! So go order it now!

This was such a fun and refreshing read. Soccer is my favorite sport to watch, so it was great to read about it for a change (and not always about ice hockey or American football. ;) )
Liam and Kinsley were a cute couple, I really liked them together. But what I liked even more was the relationship between Kinsley and her bestie Becca. I usually don’t care about secondary characters because they are often boring and don’t contribute to the story much but it was different here, which I liked.
The story didn’t contain angst or troubled pasts, only a bitchy and scheming teammate, which was also refreshing. :D

If you look for a fun and easy summer read, then this book is for you. :)

I will definitely read more R. S. Grey books :) I can’t wait to start The Summer Games.

"You look beautiful, have my babies."

I’m REALLY into forbidden romances these days.
This was such a fun, sexy, easy read - Forbidden, intense, and yes, romantic.

Kinsley Bryant is on her way to Olympic try outs and the only thing standing in her way is the gorgeous Coach Wilder. Liam Wilder is a professional soccer player, America’s favourite bad boy – and, Kinsley’s new coach. He is recruited to help train the girls soccer team, and in-turn change his “play-boy” reputation around.
Kinsley was warned off Liam, as was the whole soccer team – It would result in being cut and having their chance at the Olympics go up in flames. It should have given her more reason to stay focused and train harder - but everyone knows when you tell someone they shouldn't, the need to do so is that much stronger. Plus, the pull and tension between them from the beginning was undeniable.
“He was the northern star. I had no choice but to become enveloped in his brightness and let it coax me toward him. Wanting him was an unconscious impulse, like taking my next breath. “
Kinsley and Liam found themselves sneaking around, and going through hurdles to be together. And even after it’s found out that they are in fact together, they still have so much to overcome - jealous ex team mates included!

When I started this book, I didn’t expect to end it in tears with the most perfect ending – and the added epilogue and extended epilogue was an extra treat!

    “Adios, heart. Nice knowing you.”

I loved this story, it's fresh, different, witty, sexy and the characters are fabulous. Liam is a hot, sexy professional soccer player, he has a reputation for being a bit of a bad boy but its now trying to clean up he's image. Kinsley is young and has just been accepted to play soccer at college level and is hoping to be invited to the olympics try out! She meets Liam at a party and unknown to her he will be one of her coaches. The journey of their forbidden relationship is witty, emotional, tense with the added problem of Tara ( a real bitch ) that will make their lives just a little bit more complicated . The chemistry and sexiness between Liam and Kinsley is simply scorching!
