From the Author

Sometimes the best ideas come from things that happen in real life. I'm a big fan of cozy mysteries and wanted to write one. The result is Where's Audrey?. My mother's name was Grace and her sister's name was Audrey. It just felt right to use their names for the elderly sisters in the book. I live in a Florida mobile home park. There are characters like Marge, lonely people like Vera, and neighbors who watch out for each other. I enjoyed writing Where's Audrey.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book about Mel who is asked by her Grandmother and Great Aunt to fly from Jersey to Clearwater to check on her other Great Aunt Audrey who has been missing for over three months. She meets a detective who unofficially helps her find her Great Aunt Aubrey. A young man is living in her double wide trailer in one of the Florida, over 50 mobile home parks. Jason said she had left for a cruise in Europe three.months before. However, she had no passport. Where is Aunt Audrey, and where do they find her? Read to find out!

What a horrid events for a family to endure. Thankfully Mel had the sincere assistance of a caring police officer. The storytelling and characters told a very compelling and intriguing story. Makes you wonder about how caring your neighbors and friends are and how the police respond to the calls of concerned citizens. The emotions that played out with Mel and her family was heartwrenching. Hopefully there is a blessing and gift of love between Mel and Conner. Intriguing storyline.

A short read - part mystery/romance/family drama - set at Christmas, but not too Christmassy.

The characters are interesting and the story flows well. It's as much a romance as it is a mystery. Good light read.

This is a heartwarming story of family relations, death, mystery, and romance. Mel investigates to figure out what happened to her aunt when it seems everyone is against her. With the help of a local police officer, Conner, who is sweet on her; they work to solve the mystery. Her family is messed up, but she thrives in spite of it. I liked reading this short story but the solution to the mystery wasn't too hard, but still a good read.

This book kept my interest from page one till the end. The Characters were believable and dialogue natural. I didn't want to leave them without knowing for sure I was right. Such a nice love story. It reminds us that we have to be friends and show compassion and interest in others if we expect others to care about us. Well written and enjoyable.

IF this book is listed as free, then go ahead and get it, but it isn't worth spending money on. One chapter ends, and then that finishing scene repeats itself in the beginning of the next chapter. There are grammatical errors such as misuse of pronouns, and even misuse of names, such as referring to Jane suddenly as Vera.

Also, one character was introduced, given a few scenes, none of which really seemed to matter much to the story, and then that character just dropped out of the book never to be seen again, despite the fact that the particular character was a good friend of the lead character's great aunt.

This story had a big problem in that it was trying to be a mystery about a missing great aunt, but then also had to throw in a mother who had basically abandoned her daughter at birth to be raised by the grandmother and the resulting daughter angst from that, plus trying to throw in a romance with the deputy investigating the missing aunt case, AND a friend who pops in for a few scenes but doesn't really seem to have any reason for being in the story, either.

Quite frankly, I could have written it better, and I am the first to admit that I am not author material. That should sum up the quality of this book.

However, there were no gratuitous sex scenes, which I hate in any book, so as a freebie, it wasn't a total waste.
