Audiobook: Narrator - B.J. Harrison

An excellent narration by Mr. Harrison. He did an exceptional job of both the male and female characters. A small part had an accent and I thought he did a great job of that although I have struggled with one of his accents in a previous book. Guess it’s all in what type of accent.

This was such a sweet, although plenty steamy, story of a couple that captured my heart right from the start. Rebecca was so determined and I have to admit, there was a time or two I had to grit my teeth at her. Pierce didn’t quite know what to do with a woman like her. But it didn’t take him long to figure out he didn’t want to let her go.

I felt deeply connected to these characters and loved seeing them with the secondary characters as they each waded through not only their relationship but what life was throwing at them. The drama is low with it revolving around what they were dealing with between themselves. This story absolutely sizzles as this couple moves from casual to more and I loved the love between them.

Pierce is a protector has been his whole life. He meets Rebecca when she punches a guy and he is impressed but stepping in to protect her, it doesn’t go well. He is hooked which is strange for him. Rebecca is not looking for a guy especially a protector. There is so much going on in her life and he is on a mission. There’s homelessness, a death, figuring out what’s what.This is the 3rd book with the Braden’s and they are all different stories. Melissa Foster hasn’t disappointed me yet.

Rebecca has not had an easy life, but the last 3 years have been so hard. Her mom was her best friend, then she got cancer. Forced to take a break from college to take care of her mom. Trying to keep a job and be there for her mom is so hard. Knowing her mom was not going to make it and didn't want to leave her with a ton of debt, they stayed at home. But with the demands of caring for someone so sick, she wasn't able to pay the rent for the last few months. The landlord knew them well after years of living there, he let them stay but Rebecca was to proud. After her mom died and she gave herself a few weeks to mourn she packed her car up, leaving furniture for the landlord to sell to help pay for the rent. She got a bartender job and hoped to find a new place to live soon.

Pierce was the oldest of the Braden kids, wild hardworking and loyal to his family. When he was only six years old his dad left, and he decided he had to be the man of the house. Even when his mother tried to stop him, he was there for all his siblings and his mom too. Now he is a business owner, he has many casinos and restaurants but his personal life is missing something. After seeing his younger brother find the love of his life, he is wondering if he is missing something. He is known around town as a ladies man and hasn't had a girlfriend in years.

They meet at a bar in a bad part of town. Rebecca is having a really bad night, her boss is such a jerk. After being yelled at by her boss and getting so fed up with his bullshit , she yells right back and quits her job. A job she really needed to get her life back in order. On the way out of the bar some drunk man gets in her way, getting way to hands-on, she knees him in the groin and punches him in the face. Pierce sees the damsel in distress and tries to help. He pulls her away and out the front door. She is not happy to have another man touch her and backs away from him. She starts walking away but he wants to see if he can help. He offers to call her a cab or give her a ride but she wants none of it. He watches her walk towards the parking garage and hopes the beautiful woman will be ok. The next day he sees her again and wants to get to know her. He convinces her to take a walk in the park with him, spending hours talking. They come from such different worlds but can they find common ground? They are both drawn to each other and after just one kiss the sparks are flying.

Pierce Braden is the oldest of the Trusty Braden clan. He’s always felt that he needed to be the one to care for his younger siblings when his father left when he was just six years old. Now in his adult life, he’s still likes to be in charge and take care of the people that he loves and even those that he may not even know. When he saw a women in a bar get manhandled by a man when passing he was going to step in and take charge like he always did but before he could, she took care of the situation herself by punching the man and talking him down. He was immediately intrigued by a women that could not only take care of herself but also one that seemed to not want anything to do with him or his money. He couldn’t’ stop thinking about her.

Rebecca Rivera had pretty much hit rock bottom. She’s now without a job and nowhere to live. She doesn’t trust easily and refuses to take handouts. When Pierce Braden tries to come to her rescue, she does what she does best these days, she pushes him away. Little does she know that it’s not the last that she will see of him.

I loved how strong Rebecca was and while she was misguided in her feelings of what she saw in others, she stuck to her guns about so many things. I also loved how patient Pierce was with her knowing that with as much as she had been through, she needed time to heal. This book was amazing and I can’t think of a single thing that I would change in it.

This was another great book in the long line of the Love in Bloom series that blossomed into the Braden series as well as other series. If you love to read hot contemporary romance series that lead into other books, then this is the series for you. Start at the beginning which is Sisters in Love and you will be reading great books for a long while because this is the 17th book in the series and I’m not even sure if that’s counting the Seaside Dreams spin off. Trust me there are a ton of them and I’ve given most of them 4 and 5 star reviews.

I can’t wait to read the next book in the series which features Ross Braden. Flirting with Love is scheduled to come out in the Fall of 2014 (right around the corner). I honestly do not know when Melissa Foster sleeps because it seems that she is releasing a new book almost every month. Keep them coming!!!

I don't know how Melissa Foster does it, she keeps coming up with all these fantastic novels, I just can't get enough..!!
The more Rebecca's character developed you became completely gripped and she had already gone through plenty of heartache before running into the gorgeous Pierce Braden but after turning down his advances he defiantly had his work cut out but in typical Braden style he stuck to his guns.
There are plenty of sad and very emotional moments and you feel everyone of them, brilliantly portrayed. I love the whole family thing and as I've said in my review on the the Seaside Summer series it's been a brilliant journey so far, I'm going from one Series to the other and I've got the next instalments on pre-order it's driving me crazy but in a good way..!!
Rebecca and Pierce's story couldn't have been more perfect.. Thank you Melissa Foster..!!
