- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2024Keith Temple Trotter’s "100 Small Steps" is a masterclass in personal transformation, distilled into manageable insights. Each chapter serves as a stepping stone, guiding readers through a journey of self-awareness and growth. Trotter's writing is clear and impactful, making profound concepts accessible to all.
The book shines in chapters like "The Weight of Emotional Baggage," where Trotter delves into the psychological aspects of change, offering readers practical strategies for shedding mental and emotional weight alongside physical. His personal stories add depth, transforming abstract advice into relatable, lived experiences.
Another highlight is "Step 22: The Power of Small Changes," a testament to Trotter's core message: significant transformation begins with tiny, consistent actions. This chapter, in particular, resonates for its simplicity and effectiveness, encouraging readers to start small but think big.
"100 Small Steps" is not just a book; it's a companion for anyone on the path to self-improvement. Trotter’s blend of personal anecdotes with actionable steps makes this work a practical toolkit for change. It’s ideal for readers seeking to make lasting changes in their lives, one small step at a time.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2015In 100 Small Steps: The First 100 Pounds You Gotta Think Right, Keith Temple Trotter shares all his failures and successes with readers in his quest to lead a healthier life and transform himself. A man on a mission to unveil the causes of detrimental mindsets that created his unhealthy habits and obesity in the first place, Keith goes deep within to once and for all, resolve his issues. He learns through his own stories and backs up his stories’ findings with stats and facts. In the end, he empowers readers to form a new relationship with food, just as he did and choose self-love over love-food. The most memorable story that sticks out in my mind is how Keith himself didn’t believe he was fat until he saw the photos of himself and how he became angry with the people around him for not telling him the truth. I loved how Keith vulnerably and honestly shared all of his thought processes and how he ultimately took responsibility for each of his choices so that he could finally lose weight permanently. I also applaud him for sharing how he is still on the journey to losing more weight and his work is incomplete. Keith uplifts, inspires and gives all readers hope that taking one step at a time leads to the 100 steps that are required to lose the first 100 pounds the right way so you’ll never look back. Losing 100 pounds or 10 pounds is about loving yourself enough to make healthy choices that will make you happier!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2015This book is just what i needed. I was a slim young person but have been very overweight for a long time. I needed to hear someone's story who had been where i am and could relate! Fitness gurus generally haven't been obese and haven't personally faced "fat people problems", and therefore alot of what they suggest may be correct for someone much much smaller, it just doesn't apply to an obese person's struggle. Mr. Trotter gave such logical thought to attacking his (my) problem, and later found that his approach was completely in line with smart weight loss science! But he also found some very cool ways to apply hard change to everyday life in order to make the change palatable and even preferable! I love his perspective because i am where he once was, and i feel like i can make it to the end of the race with his awesome insights, tips, and wisdom to inspire me to think right!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2017Nowhere did it state that this kindle book was just part one of 3. I was led to believe that this was the one book. Rip off.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2015Maybe I wasn't ready for this book. I thought it would help me get into the weight loss minds set, but I found it was just the authors experiences and some questions. I think I was looking for something more in depth.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2015Great content and very inspirational.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2015Keith is an exemplary writer. He has taken some hard hitting material and made it an easy read for those who want to change their lives for the better. He shows us by his own example that you can make a change. His honesty is refreshing when it comes to a book about weight loss. I am truly impressed and would recommend this to anyone who is wanting to make a positive future for themselves. He is frank when he says, "I will not be able to tell you how to get it done." He leaves it up to the reader, making them responsible, which then in turn gives them the motivation to be the true person they can be.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's not 100 steps! It's only 33...
Nowhere in the Amazon description of this book did it mention this. You've got to buy the other books for all 100 steps. Also the book may physically be 143 pages but once you cut out the intro, notes, glossary and "excerpt from the next book", it's actually only 110 pages of advice. And the text on those 110 pages is very spaced out, with lots of big blank areas on a lot of the pages. So you're probably actually only getting about 70 pages of advice. I'll save you the trouble/cost of buying the book - its key theme is this: losing weight is all about understand your psychological reasons so address them first.

2.0 out of 5 stars was pretty obvious knowledge
I didn't find this book very insightful. The name and description promised so much but I feel it didn't deliver on the content. There was a lot of wishy washy content that, to be frank, was pretty obvious knowledge. Not a help to me at all.
