I got this for my son and I love reading it as much as he. The photos are great and the descriptions detailed. You also get some historical tidbits throughout the book.

I cannot imagine the motivations of the author or the “museum” that put this atrocity out. As a reference work on firearms, it is useless. The author is as incurious about his chosen topic as anyone I’ve ever seen. Pro tip: If you’re going to write a book about accurate firearms history, you don’t include a section entitled “Assault Weapons" (unless you do so specifically to explain its origins as an attack on private contemporary firearms ownership via the US "Assault Weapons Ban"). That term is media-manufactured branding used for political expediency in banning private sector small arms in common use. It is not a military designation, nor is it an industrial designation. Then, even when you include such a section, to put a Ruger 10/22 in it outs you as firearms illiterate. What a shameful, fact-free, disingenuous little antigun tome.

If you want a book about guns, you probably need to make sure the author isn’t a bootlicking serf.
