- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2020I liked this book so much I bought the first two in the series. I've read other books by this author and enjoyed them very much. Male detective asks female anthropologist to dig up some bones. Sounds routine, but that's where the routine ends. The plot is credible, the characters plausible, it was easy to get caught up into it. I found the book and plot very interesting.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2013Forbidden Lover is the 14th romance novel by American author, Amanda Stevens and is the third book in the Gallagher Justice series. Dr Erin Casey is a forensic anthropologist, working for the Forensic Anthropology and Human Identification Laboratory in Chicago. Nick Gallagher is a cop who needs her to identify some recently uncovered bones: it's vital to his case against Daniel O'Rourke, who's just about to be released from jail. Erin is an excellent anthropologist: dedicated, impartial, professional. But Erin has a secret that will change the way Nick thinks about her. He may be falling in love, but will that love survive Erin's secret? While the book can be read as a stand-alone romance/intrigue, the back story of certain other characters is absent. There is a rather melodramatic climax and Stevens plot and characters are not strong enough to make me want to read further in this series.
