Susan Mallery is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of books about the relationships that define women's lives—romance, friendship, family. With compassion and humor, Susan keenly observes how people think and feel, in stories that take readers on an emotional journey. Sometimes heartbreaking, often funny, and always uplifting, Susan's books have spent more than 200 weeks on the USA Today bestsellers list, thanks to her ever growing legions of fans.

Critics, too, have heaped praise on "the new queen of romantic fiction." (Walmart) Booklist says, "Romance novels don't get much better than Mallery's expert blend of emotional nuance, humor, and superb storytelling," and RT Book Reviews puts her "in a class by herself!"

Although Susan majored in Accounting, she never worked as an accountant because she was published straight out of college with two books the same month. Sixteen prolific years and seventy-four books later, she hit the New York Times bestsellers list for the first time with Accidentally Yours in 2008. She made many appearances in the Top 10 before (finally) hitting #1 in 2015 with Thrill Me, the twentieth book in her popular series, the Fool's Gold romances, and the fourth of five books released that year.

Susan lives in Seattle with her husband, a ragdoll cat, and a small poodle with delusions of grandeur. Her heart for animals has led Susan to become an active supporter of the Seattle Humane Society. Animals play a big role in her books, as well, as she believes they're an integral component to a happy life. Visit Susan online at www.SusanMallery.com.

I loved this book. It was interesting to see a normal woman. Beth wasn't a CEO, rich, "model beautiful", or anything uber anything. She was refreshing and lovely. I loved watching her navigate from one place to another in her life. Todd, by a twist in life, ends up meeting this down to earth woman who has no idea how to function in his world and he has little clue about how to function in hers. I think it's likely this could happen. Down to earth writing without the over doing the rich and wealthy life style.

there wasn't anything that I disliked about this book! It was a book about second love. Dating again after the death other first husband. About blending a bachelor with a family with teenage children.
About 2 very different people finding out the things they having in common and building a life together and combining a family. Of course it had it's pitfalls but it turned out happy in the end. That's what I like about Romance novels. They make me feel good. It is very well written and believable in my mind. Susan Mallary is one of my favorite authors and again she didn't disappoint me!!

One of the very best millionaire/ordinary woman novels I’ve read! It was a very believable novel, and kept me engrossed!
  • Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2023
Beth is a widow with 2 teenage children. She meets Todd who is a millionaire who normally dates very young and beautiful women.

Todd is attracted to her and he enjoys spending time with her as well as her children.

Beth is constantly challenging Todd by basically saying she does not believe a word he says.

I really liked this book in many ways. But, it got very tiresome having the same dumb comments come out of Beth’s mouth.

I liked that Beth was not a fashion model she was a regular woman. But, I found it hard to imagine that she had been married for nearly 20 years. She lived in the real world and knew almost nothing about relationships.

I am a fan of Ms Mallery and I have a huge number of her books on my Kindle. I will continue to read her books and be very happy. But, this one was just too much repeating the same things over and over. Yeah, Beth had thighs and wrinkles. Golly gee.

But, even though this was an early book by Ms Mallery, it is evident that her talent was right there and shining through.

I love these books. Susan Mallery has a way with words that never ceases to amaze me. This one is about finding new love after losing the love of your life. Starting over is never easy but having the courage to try is also that matters. I'm glad Beth found her courage!

Although somewhat dated, there are several timely highlights still important today. Unlikely that we'd all come face to face with a millionaire but I'd like to think there's a lucky lady out there who does get to date him. Good luck and love to all of us!

I am a great fan of Susan mallery and have all her books but I didn't enjoy this book at all mostly because it was so unrealistic that someone, anyone, would put up with Beth never mind someone as great as Todd who is gorgeous and rich. She moans from beginning to end. Dreadful woman. Nobody has the patienceTodd showed in this book.
