Great book

A short and quick read, Caitlin Crews takes on the enigmatic and royal Zair Al Ruyi and the innocent Nora Grant on a ride of danger, corruption and passion in the second book of the Forbidden Series, “The Billionaire’s Innocent”.

A frantic search of her missing best friend lands Nora in the midst of sex trafficking and drugs. Posing as a prostitute, Nora hopes to find her friend, but ends up being escorted by her childhood friend, Zair Al Ruyi, who wants to protect and keep her innocent of the evil that walks the world.

Zair may be royalty, but his royal relatives are in the throes of drug and flesh trafficking and Zair has been covertly aiding in bringing them down. Seeing Nora brings fore the love and lust he had as they were growing up. And now finding her right in the middle of a dangerous situation brings out his protective instincts and desire.

Fast paced, intense and sizzling, “The Billionaire’ Innocent” keeps you quiet entertained and captivated. And Caitlin Crews needs no introduction as she gives us another passionate read.

Nora's naivety and insistence on placing herself is danger is a bit frustrating, but as I have never been a spoiled rich girl, maybe it is accurate. Not a vanilla story. While I liked it, it was not my favorite of the series.

Darkly tempting, curiously fascinating and sultry. The Billionaire's Innocent with it's complex characters and intriguing story-line takes the reader through the ups and downs of Nora and Zair's relationship. Mixed with a little suspense and a look at a subject that is a prominent problem in society, Caitlin Crews rapturously guides the reader through it all. The Billionaire's Innocent had moments of good storytelling.

THE BILLIONAIRE'S FANTASY - Kate Hewitt
THE BILLIONAIRE'S INNOCENT - Caitlin Crews

My Review of "The Billionaire's Innocent":

Filled with complex characters and involving a plot filled with suspense and intrigue. Uncommon for Caitlin Crews there are a few spots that moves a little slower than usual. Although bothersome it does not take away from the overall enjoyment of the book. This is the third book in the series, but can easily read as a stand alone book. The romance aspect is well done and with taste. The suspense of the story will keep you on the edge of your seat. My rating of "The Billionaire's Innocent" is 4 out of 5 stars.

Plot: F
Characters: D-
Heat: D
This book is frustrating. I really want to smack some sense into Nora. She is unbelievably naive considering she is doing investigation in a sex trafficking ring to find her friend. She thinks the best of Zair when everything points to the contrary. She is so resolute that he wouldn't use prostitutes and is looking for ulterior motives beyond that. She believes that a former classmate is doing the parties by choice and can easily get out. Nora isn't innocent, but naive instead. Zair is often cruel, says hurtful things, and controlling in a non-sexy way.

Things moved slowly in this book as well. 50% in and there are no development. No clues as to where Harlow is, and no developments in Nora and Zair's relationship. They have met up and had a few discussions, but no love or romance.

This book is more of a tell not show. We were told things happened, not how or shown how.

The heat was lacking. All the dark themes and talk of darkness, and we don't see it. The heat factor was nondescriptive and left much to be desired.

The very last "one year later" part of the book was the best part. Nora and Zair were likeable and there was a hint of sexy. But unfortunately that 2% didn't make up for the rest of this book.

No I haven’t liked this series so much. I don’t read romance for hard, upsetting and realistic story issues like trafficking.

The heroine was just unbelievably stupid. I wanted to love this book because I adore Caitlin Crews. I liked the resolution and final scenes. Caitlin couldn’t write a poor piece of prose if she tried but the plot-lines along with horrid characters made this a hard read.
