The ShipCraft series provides in-depth information about building and modifying model kits of famous warship types. Lavishly illustrated, each book takes the modeler through a brief history of the subject class, highlighting differences between sister-ships and changes in their appearance over their careers.     I purchased this publication as a reference for a schnellboot model I am building. The first few pages described the development of the type with short descriptions and some photos. Unfortunately the bulk of the book was devoted to all of the models of the S-boote that had been manufactured. This part was of no use to me and I was left with the feeling that more of the pages should have been devoted to period photos and more detailed text bout the operation of the schnellboote flotillas in WW II. Overall it added somewhat to my reference material but left me feeling that I had paid for model company advertising rather than a useful text.
