God Makes Us Holy Kindle Edition
That needs to change.
Without complicated theology, God Makes Us Holy guides the reader through restoration, regeneration, sanctification, and resurrection. These basic processes define sin, evil, and the excuses we use to accept them as normal. But mostly, they show God’s desire to mold us into His holy likeness.
God takes us as we are and is sensitive to our needs. He individualizes His methods and timing to benefit each person. God knocks. We must answer. His repeated efforts gently transform willing believers.
The process is not always easy, but joy comes each time we find God’s great love, abundant mercy, and willing forgiveness. God Makes Us Holy is simple enough for children and deep enough to live.

About the author

Jo Helen Cox has an insatiable thirst for knowledge tweaked by inordinate curiosity. Cox started her journey questioning the existence of God. He answered. Now she must question everything said about Him. In doing so, she has been given unique answers pertaining to religion and our relationship to His sovereignty. Each discovery makes her more aware of God’s unconditional love and mercy.
She has a degree in fine arts, not in religion. Cox paints, sculpts, and photographs nature, but only began writing after she turned forty. She lives in West Texas with her husband and a menagerie of animals. Cox believes her friends were chosen by God to stretch her mind and deepen her compassion.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2015When holy meant something like God, it was impossible for me, even arrogant to think I could be holy. The way Jo Cox explains it makes it attainable, desirable, even a natural response to being exposed to God. She takes this murky concept and clears out all the religion of it and lifts the clarity of it into light. It's simple! Thank you for making this step so easy to understand.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2015There are straight-forward truths to this book and wise insights and yet there were a few things I did not agree with. I think that much of it was the way I perceived it, so I'm not sure if that should be a basis for review. One example is: "Love puts our name in the Book of Life (Matthew 25:31-46; Luke 16:19-31). . . . ."
It isn't 'love' that puts our name in the Book of Life" it is Christ and Christ alone, but that may have been what Ms. Cox meant. Problem is, it was not stated that way. She has beautiful insight and wisdom from the Lord; much of which made me think a bit deeper to help me understand God's Word 'below surface scripture.' She is very clear about her faith in the Lord when she says, "Never worship anything but the Creator. Nothing within creation is worthy."
This book has quite a bit of discernment into the Bible so I'm not sure I should assess this book on statements I did not agree with. I believe it boils down to the way I understood it versus the way she meant it, so I would recommend this book. It is simple enough for the 'Truth-Seeker' to read and understand, or the New Christian to follow and learn from and well-written for the mature Christian.
What a beautiful illustration on the front cover and a creative way to describe her book.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2015Nice little book, I was given this free to read. I believe you said it was your first book. I was quite pleased with it.

I haven't been a Christian for long and I am not to knowledgeable about many things but Jo Helen Cox was able to explain so many things so well that the information became so clear. She has such insight. Her writing is so easy to understand. I look forward to reading more books by this author. I highly recommend her!

- Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2015I enjoyed reading God Makes Us Holy so much. It is short, simple, and unbelievably packed. Jo Cox wrote things I have never heard before--or if I have, I don't remember having heard them.
