This series is blasting past me at light speed.. I couldn't wait to read this one - and it didn't disappoint - and now I can't wait to read the next. Bedtime can't come soon enough!

I will read it again, it was intriguing, I thank the author for sending it, the series is easier to understand if read in sequence

I haven't read this author before but she picked up the ball and ran with it, never missed a beat continuing with the story. Can't wait to start reading the next book.

I find this series interesting since each installment is written by a different author. I could definitely tell that this one was written a little differently from the first. The character took on a more edgy feel and the descriptions were different. At first it felt like I was almost reading a different book until I started to get into the flow of the new authors style.

This installment seemed a bit rushed or like something was off. The main character was unraveling so perhaps I was experiencing her anxiety and how things needed to happen right now. I didn't like this one as much as the first, but it was still a fun read. I'm looking forward to the 3rd to see how that author handles things.

Carla Cassidy passes the torch to Tyler Anne Snell in this second installment of the Tough Justice e-serial. This story picks up where "Exposed" left off, with Special Agent Lara Grant looking for the connections in a murder case that could be closely tied to her arch enemy, a mobster, named Moretti. When a possible lead winds up dead, Lara will have to come face to face with Moretti in order to figure out what he knows, and if he is indeed behind the murders. This encounter will open up a myriad of bottled up fears and emotions for Lara. With the stakes growing higher, Lara and Nick forge a stronger working relationship, and become pretty good partners.

Can Lara shake Moretti down or has the game just turned deadlier?

The case with Moretti really heats up and turns personal as people close to the FBI unit could be the killer’s next victim. The case isn’t the only thing heating up though, as Nick and Lara struggle to keep their attraction to one another under control.

I enjoyed getting a little bit more background on Lara and Nick, picking up a little more insight into Lara’s character, as her personal demons are examined a little more closely.

Nick and Lara have a strong undercurrent running between them, that has me itching to see them give in to temptation, but I am enjoying the tantalizing build -up between them right now.

This second installment is action packed, gritty, and suspenseful and, of course, the last paragraph will leave you begging for more. I can’t wait to see where the series will go from here.

Book 1 was great and this second book did not disappoint. I really enjoyed it and thought it flowed great from book 1.

Read for review on Booksmart. Lara, the protagonist, remains unlikable and unadmirable. She refuses to share vital information with her partner, which could endanger his life, she gulps straight whiskey at every chance, and she wallows in self-pity constantly. A thoroughly repugnant character that makes slogging through this series a somewhat onerous task. Very little enjoyment in this so far.

4.0 out of 5 stars bit expensive for set when should have been in 2 books total

Brought the whole series but should have been in just one or two books maximum, good story but books very short.

This episode illustrates my previous review. Here is an agent completely out of control and repeating mistakes which lessens her credibility once again. Too much emphasis on her vulnerability, so judgement still reserved. Having a different author does nothing for the storyline.
