Milwaukee Food: A History of Cream City Cuisine Kindle Edition
Milwaukee’s culinary scene boasts more than the iconic beer and bratwurst. It possesses a unique food culture as adventurous as any dining destination in the country. Sample the spreads at landmark hotels like the Pfister that established the city’s hospitable reputation, as well as eateries like Mader’s that cemented it. Meet the producers, chefs and entrepreneurs who helped expand Milwaukee’s palate and pushed the scene to the forefront of the farm-to-fork movement. Milwaukee native and food writer Lori Fredrich serves up the story of a bustling blue-collar town that became a mecca for food lovers and a rising star in the sphere of urban farming.

About the author
Lori is an avid cook whose accrual of condiments and spices is rivaled only by her cookbook collection. Her passion for the culinary industry was birthed while balancing A&W root beer mugs as a teenage carhop, fed by insatiable curiosity and fueled by the people whose stories entwine with each and every dish. She’s had the privilege of chronicling these tales through her work as Dining Editor at OnMilwaukee.com, podcaster for the FoodCrush Podcast and dining expert on WTMJ-4 Television’s “Milwaukee Tonight.”
Lori is the author of “Milwaukee Food: A History of Cream City Cuisine” and "Wisconsin Field to Fork: Farm Fresh Recipes from the Dairy State. Her recipes and writing have also been featured in a variety of publications including "Bon Appetit," “Cheese Connoisseur,” “Cooking Light,” and “Edible Milwaukee,” among others.

Wether you have lived in Milwaukee for a period of time or just enjoy Milwaukee history & the food that so many local chefs are now serving up, then this is the book for you. The author brings the human side to light on a lot of prominent Milwaukee chefs which serves to remind us that they are just great people, following their passions.
The book is all just a little bit more delicious thanks to the mouth watering photos of photographer Joe Laedtke.
Keep this book handy for when you just can't think of where to eat as this will give you so many options.
