This was a fair book and I liked both Chance and Holly but wished Chance hadn't fought so to stay away from her (Chance did it to protect her from himself.) Holly had loved him since she was twelve and he was her heart. Playboy/man-whore (Gosh I get so sick of them.) had definitely been around but he respected Holly enough to not touch her. He felt he was bad for her but then began to realize he had been in love with her most of his life as well.
Things happened very quickly at the end and it feels as if I, the reader, was left out of a lot of important info. Items listed below.
1) After Chance breaks away from Holly to go back to his SEAL team we have no idea what kind of epiphany he had and what it was exactly that changed his mind to bring him back to her. He was so set on not leaving the Team and then boom, he was back.
2) The reader waited a long time for anything to happen between the two. It wasn't until a short romp that happened at 75-76 percent, and for me that was too long to wait and not enough action. When he left to go back they had only been together once. I felt a bit cheated.
At least this brother used condoms. Cole, who is up in the next book was kind of iffy with protection and definitely not as likable as Chance? I also wanted to add that I like this brother so much more than Cole. There was something very lovable and likable about Chance that was completely absent with Cole.
It would sure be helpful if all of this series books were in one series. This one was in the 'Billionaires and Babies'. The next was is in 'The Masters of Texas'. I tried to find all the books so I could read them all and in order. That was an impossibility unless you're a mind reader. They are not listed in the same series at our local library either. This author is missing a chance for people to
read her complete series. I spent literally hours in the last two days doing searches through Harlequin Authors. You know how they have a series then a half dozen authors contribute. Of course, first I went through this authors books but it's hard to find all the books in a series when they are not named that way.It cost me too much time, effort and trouble. This book I happened to accidentally run into and wanted to read the blurb only to be surprised it was about Cole's brother Chance. I think I'm giving up on this author. I've read a few of her books and most of them contain man-whores/playboys and for this reader and a lot of my friends, we have been venturing away from that theme that is all too prevalent in books these days. I also don't like it when the guys thoughts stray back to previous women he's bedded or he is thinking about how much experience he has and he'll make it good for her and some of these thoughts come while he is in bed with 'the one.' Not my cuppa!
